Mason over Rock?
No way.
Why not? However I don't think Skins would actually release Rock cuz of his leadership and experience.. But I think Mason can jump over Rock for #3 RB..

I think this will be a very interesting battle. I like both Marcus and Rock so we'll see, let the better player win.

I really like Marcus Mason -- I'm really not opposed to dealing Betts if we can get something in return.

Cut Frost, free up an extra spot. :D
Maybe our new punter can kick FGs too.

Danny Smith is a big Rock guy, so unless someone else beats him out as a return man I can't see Rock getting cut.

I was impressed with Mason last year. He really had some decent runs in the limited action that I saw of him.

I'll start off by saying I like all our RB's, but.....Portis is our man. Unless he gets injured he's #1. Both Betts and Rock have their issues. I know I'll get slammed for this but Betts is known for Ummmm.....dropping the ball at the most in opportune time. I'm not saying he can't carry a team but expect atleast one fumble when you least need him to.
Rock is no better. He has the tendency to fumble at the worst time also. Which is why both were relegated to kick returner. Either one delt in a trade for something we need would not bother me. Now you will ask am I a Marcus fan....yes. I like the kid and his speed. He is someone we could develope to take over for Portis in a few yrs. He's young, he's shifty, he's fast, because he is young he has the time to be developed. Unlike the other two who will always remain second fiddle to Portis and then be just as old as Portis when he decides to retire or when team decides he's slowing down and can't get the job done.
Who knows what the team has in store. but I would not be trading Mason for something in return when you have two other RB's who would get better trade value due to being vets. Don't need to be developed. Can make a mediochre (sp) team better and even be a better back up to what they may already have if not the starter which I'm sure they would rather be but for Portis.
Ok......slam me.

Right, as I said that I DON'T think Redskins will cut him.. However, speaking of the place of #3 RB, I think Mason can take that spot..

So... you think we'll keep 4 RB's on the active roster?? That's not going to happen.

My guess would be that the same thing that happened last yr will happen this yr. He will be put on the practice squad. I just hope no one observes him and he doesn't get picked up by another team. I'm not sure what Cerrato was thinking when he said what he must have said but I would rather see Rock traded vs Mason. We have several people on the team who technically can return balls. It seemed that this yr they went over board on the who can do their job and return kicks. It kinda makes Rock expendable. Unless none of the others are good at the job. Like Randel El. Although he can I would not put my heart and soul in his returns. He's more East/West then North/South.
