They arent going to make a run this year but have their QB of the future. Its nice being able to see that our startign d stopped the pathers first string, but the giants didnt, heh. Let's give some credit where credit is due. He's going to be starting sooner rather than later this year. I really like his arm and his poise especially for a rookie. The only problem is that sive of an offensive line he has. Defensewins 08-20-2004, 10:20 AM Eli Manning really surprised me. For a rookie playing against the starting defense of the Super Bowl Runner ups, he looked very good (for a rookie). I don't like to jinx our team by saying we wiil be able to run against the Giants because the superbowl runner up team can. I think that is a stretch. Team comparisons like we had a close game against Panthers and the Giants did not, so we will beat the Giants, does not work work in todays NFL. Anybody can beat anybody in todays NFL. The Panthers have a balanced offense. We do not YET. I have no doubts Joe Gibbs will turn our offense into one of the best, but WHEN is the issue. It took Gibbs until game 5 in 1981 to get them going. We should not assume our offense will be at its peak by game 1 of this regular season.
