Landry needs to be at OTA's, especially since he has a bad attitude and is out of shape. It would be awesome if he showd up today but I don't see that happening.

How can he be out of shape when he either almost or won the race against CP? And he showed up..

Not sure why you think he has a bad attitude and is out of shape?

Has the general public forgotten what "voluntary" really means?

I kind of liked how Marcus Washington said before (paraphrasing) "voluntary OTA's is kind of like when your girlfriend says you don't have to get her anything for her birthday."

Left guard Pete Kendall did turn up for practice and drew praise from coach Jim Zorn for running wind sprints after practice a month before his 35th birthday. However, cornerback Shawn Springs and safety LaRon Landry remained AWOL.

While Zorn and defensive coordinator Greg Blache said that they hadn't heard from the missing defensive backs, teammates said they had heard from them and that each had missed his flight.

Running back Clinton Portis was back on the field after missing some time last month with a hip flexor. However, receiver Antwaan Randle El remained out after having a knee scoped on May 5. Safety Vernon Fox was also still sidelined after having a knee scoped a week earlier.

How can you be AWOL from a voluntary/non-mandatory event?

In my opinion it is a nonstory but since there isn't much right now the press is going to make it such.

Yeah pretty funny. I had a bad case of the flu myself on sunday. We all know how that goes.

The flu yeah yeah that's the ticket there Santana ;-)
It has been sometime since I had the flu but that thing really slows you down for a good 24 hours.

That's probably the best way to describe it. Everyone says that because it's voluntary it really shouldn't matter whether they show up or not. Everybody actually knows that what the coach is saying is, I expect you to show up, but I'm not gonna call it mandatory.
