It's time to extend Jason Campbell. Do they have to get it done this week? No. But they should pay him sometime this season.

When we are leading the NFC East, that's when you extend, no time sooner.

If this keeps up I would definitely look to extend him at some point during the middle of the season.

I completely agree. He's only four games removed from a season where he threw 11 INTs to only 12 TDs and led the league in fumbles. He looks awesome and is proving he's a 1st round talent right now, but I think we should wait a bit.

he may want to wait, see, he has a definite interest in playing well and maxing his value, it's not just a team centric view.

i believe they hit it up in the offseason. mid season might be a distraction, and there's still arguments on his total value (not from me though). if we could sign him right now, i would, but i don't think that's going to happen till our season is over.

Any question now on whether to extend JC??? I think we need to work on this deal now!

I think they should extend him as soon as possible...certainly before Pro Bowl voting.
If he makes the Pro-Bowl....which is usually based on the first half of the season, the Skins will end up paying a premium...
From Jason's standpoint, he has very high value now....probably top 10 QB level, he too should be motivated to use this leverage.

I personally think this is the level of pay we need to give him.
If we had taken a chance offseason and done this, we could have paid him top 20 pay, however, Jason would have declined wanting at least average pay.
I wouldn't argue with top 10 pay...but probowler money...no way.
That is why I created this thread suggested signing him last offseason to avoid overpaying....of course, I didn't see any potential risk of paying him probowl money at the time, nor did anyone else, which is why the consensus was to wait.

How is that any measure at all of how a quarterback is playing? Peyton Manning isn't leading the AFC South, should the Colts not sign him? Drew Brees? Romo? McNabb? Palmer?

Remember, like Portis said, it's a TEAM game. With the way our division is stacked, it's likely we could win the Super Bowel before we are in first place, just like the Giants did last year.
