does anyone have any experience or knowledge(sp) of tv repair ? i have a 42" samsung that crapped out on me today. it was working fine last night but this morning when i went to turn it on it would not turn on. right below the screen there is a power button, around the power button is a light. i unplugged the tv to get the light to shut off because it was not turning off from pushing the power button(which it should), when i plugged it back in the light was off. i then pushed the power button, to turn the tv on , the light came on but the screen is totally blank and there is no sound. once again i tried to turn the tv off by pushing the button but the light would not go out. so i'm right back where i started.

it's crazy, the power button is lighting up as if there is power but the tv is not turning on. has anyone had this problem before, can anyone help?

Check out this site: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/

I purchased a Sony HDTV( CRT) a few years ago and it needed some tweaking.
They had a thread for my exact unit. It included the service code manual and a user guide explaining what each setting was.

I would do a search for model number first and hopefully there is something there that might help.

Because there is no sound, I doubt the bulb died( if you have a projection tv).
It could be something as simple as a blown fuse.
