Thank you!! I remember Mike Mayock from NFL Network saying the reason Davis fell into the 2nd round was because of work habits and he was always late for team meetings. I'd be willing to bet that Davis is one of those guys who was good enough to get by without working hard. Kind of like Anthony Montgomery when he first got here. Well this kind of crap isn't going to fly in the NFL. Who the hell oversleeps and misses the whole practice?? What a dumb ass. I already don't like this guy or the draft pick.

I won't go that far, but of the 3 2nd round picks, his was the one I felt might've been better used on another position, and at the time I wasn't aware of his rep at usc. If he's going to be a problem & is only a 2nd string TE, you have to question the overall "value" of the pick.

It's way too early to make any judgements about him, but he's definitely drawn some negative attention very quickly. On a positive note, hopefully this is his wake up call (pun intended) to nfl life, where every mistake you make will be talked about in chat rooms like ours!

Hopefully he'll learn quickly. I know he wasn't the hardest worker at USC, but he could slack off there and still be one of the best players on the team. Not the case in the NFL, plus there's big big bucks riding on it now. I imagine some of the vets and certainly the coaching staff will get in his ear. Fortunately he doesn't have legal red flags. If it's just a matter of simple laziness, hopefully the money that comes with being a NFL player will help get rid of that. Hopefully.

I'd probably suspend him for the year if he does it again.

Okay, I can see oversleeping and missing the first practice. My question is why didn't he wake up or someone find him in time for afternoon session?

There is a lot of time missing that no one is talking about.

I think they might have only gone for one session yesterday. Not positive about that, but I think there were only five minicamp practices (2 Fri, 2 Sat, 1 Sunday)

Just got this from Clayton's article on espn.com.

"5. No ZZZs with Zorn

New Redskins coach Jim Zorn had the most entertaining minicamp. Jason Campbell seems to be responding to Zorn's unique coaching methods. Clinton Portis, in his best shape as a Redskin, almost beat safety LeRon Landry in a match race. Landry ran a 4.35 40 coming out of college, but Portis wanted to challenge him. Then there was second-round pick Fred Davis. He couldn't sleep Saturday night because his roommate wouldn't shut up. So he went to the desk of the hotel and asked for a different room. He slept until 11 a.m., and the team couldn't find him because he wasn't in the right room. Zorn wants his players alert -- but Fred, tell the roommate to shut up and don't forget the wakeup call."

What a Dum ass! Dude slept in on the 3rd day! I haven’t overslept and missed something important sense I was in the 7th grade. All I can say is I sure hope this isn't the start of things to come.

Sounds like a dumb mistake. He gets a pass for this one but he better get his priorities straight real quick.

If his roommate wouldn't shut up, then why didn't he kick him out the room?

That's hilarious. Only the Redskins, right? Of all that happened this weekend (Harrison alleged in a shooting, Micheal Boley arrested for assault, Ced Benson with his BWI arrest) oversleeping is nothing. It'll cost him a few hundred thousand in his contract, but he will be fine.
