Cedric Benson arrested (and now released)GMScud 06-09-2008, 06:07 PM I can't wait for the vet min crowd to chime in Oh it's coming... skinsfan_nn 06-09-2008, 06:08 PM I would have to say T.O. is probably better than Monk and Clark. And that's not a slap in the face to either. T.O. has well over 100 TD's. That's pretty select company. I would have to say your wrong. Both Monk and Clark knew how to play the TEAM sport of football as well as any WR that ever played this game. And although they didn't have 100 TD's so what? They both had 60+ TD's and multiple SuperBowl Rings to go with the class and dignity on and off the field that only select few ever had. TO NOT INCLUDED IN THAT COMPANY! And how many SB rings has TO earned......NONE! mooby 06-09-2008, 06:29 PM I'm totally suprised Benson was released. I didn't see that coming for a minute. [/end sarcasm] Vet min? lolol sorry I wanted to. I think we're pretty set at running back, probably moreso than any other position on the team. As for the whole T.O. argument, give the guy his due. You can say what you want about what a loudmouth he is, but the guy has been consistently good wherever he goes. There's no way I'd say Clark, Monk, and Sanders are all better than him. Class is a different story, but in today's NFL T.O. isn't the only primadonna receiver. skinsfan_nn 06-09-2008, 07:13 PM Here it is. Just happened: ESPN - Bears send home Benson, later release troubled running back - NFL (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3434053) Well he's kind of like this thread on the road to nowhere. Hopefully the end is near, and the thread won't have to die such a slow drawn out death...... skinsfan_nn 06-09-2008, 07:32 PM [quote=skinsfan_nn;452096] Sorry mods for the double post. I meant to add the thread title is just a bit out dated as well. SFREDSKIN 06-09-2008, 07:37 PM I would have to say your wrong. And how many SB rings has TO earned......NONE! Not only that, Monk and Clark played primarily in a "running first offense" not the "pass happy offense" that T.O. has played in SF & Philly WC offenses, Cowboys are a Redskins old type hybrid offense. Can you imagine what stats Clark and Monk would of had if they had a Joe Montana for QB in a WC offense? Give me Monk or Clark over any other any WR in the NFL, including Jerry "the whiner" Rice. skinsfan69 06-09-2008, 11:04 PM Not only that, Monk and Clark played primarily in a "running first offense" not the "pass happy offense" that T.O. has played in SF & Philly WC offenses, Cowboys are a Redskins old type hybrid offense. Typical homerism at it's best. Jerry Rice was better than Monk and Clark. Hands down. SFREDSKIN 06-09-2008, 11:17 PM Typical homerism at it's best. Jerry Rice was better than Monk and Clark. Hands down. Yeah, when you got Joe Montana and Steve Young for QB's, play on a passing offense in the weakest division in the NFL (Falcons, Saints, Rams) and face them twice a year you would also have awesome stats. I've been in SF since 1982, have watched JR since he started his career with SF to his retirement and the guy was a Prima Donna. He whined about not getting the ball, racism for not getting MVP one year Montana got it (so they gave it to him the next year) getting caught in a massage parlor and claiming it was a joke his teammates pulled on him, etc. The guy wishes he had the class Art Monk exhibited. He was a great player but so was Monk with some crappy QB's throwing to him with the exception of Joey T. Homerism? Sure, I just call it like it is. That Guy 06-10-2008, 02:35 AM all i got to say is that benson is better than marcus mason and both will be playing for pennies this year. That Guy 06-10-2008, 02:39 AM oh yeah, isn't it a bit damning that our new personnel guy was part of the group that decided to waste a top 5 pick on this guy? i mean, i'm pretty sure brown was more on the nfl/afl scouting side of things, but still. |
