wilsowilso 05-01-2008, 07:22 PM Hey GTripp who is Joe Teamer? He doesn't seem to exist yet you have him making the LB corps?
Otherwise I think your roster will be very accurate when all is said and done. Except of course for the mystery player.
SmootSmack 05-01-2008, 08:02 PM I think he just means some generic team guy (probably a teams guy). Like John Doe
wilsowilso 05-01-2008, 08:06 PM Oh boy don't I feel stupid.
BeastsoftheNFCeast 05-01-2008, 09:19 PM Now that the draft is complete, we have a pretty good sense of our team. So, while it's early, predict the 53-man opening day roster for the 2008 Washington Redskins. Please note this is opening day (hence why you don't see Carlos Rogers on my roster below).
This isn't necessarily who you want to make the opening day roster, just who you think will make it. You can add practice squad players if you want. I didn't (though I am suspecting guys like Tryon, Mason, and Jackson make that roster)
Here's my roster (some surprises, but that always happens with final rosters)
QB: Jason Campbell, Todd Collins, Colt Brennan
RB: Clinton Portis, Ladell Betts, Rock Cartwright, Eric Shelton
FB: Mike Sellers
TE: Fred Davis, Chris Cooley, Todd Yoder
WR: Santana Moss, Antwaan Randle El, Malcolm Kelly, Devin Thomas, Anthony Mix, Burl Toler
OL: Chris Samuels, Pete Kendall, Casey Rabach, Randy Thomas, Jon Jansen, Lorenzo Alexander, Chad Rinehart, Stephen Heyer, Jason Fabini
K: Shaun Suisham
DL: Phillip Daniels, Cornelius Griffin, Anthony Montgomery, Andre Carter, Alex Buzbee, Demetric Evans, Chris Wilson, Matthias Askew, Kedrick Golston
CB: Shawn Springs, Fred Smoot, Leigh Torrence, Cedrick Holt, Byron Westbrook
S: Reed Doughty, LaRon Landry, Vernon Fox, Chris Horton
LB: Rocky McIntosh, London Fletcher, Marcus Washington, HB Blades, Curtis Gatewood, Khary Campbell
P: Durant Brooks
LS: Ethan Albright
bold predictions, lots of people who didnt play last year and didnt get drafted.
ecupirate08 05-01-2008, 11:31 PM definately see mathis taking the spot of mix/thrash. We just drafted 2 big stud Wr's so I dont really see the need to develop mix... there is obviously something in his game that keeps him off the field dispite his physical talents
Daseal 05-01-2008, 11:34 PM Good point Ecupirate08. I think we're forgetting about Mathis.
doman29@hotmail.com 05-01-2008, 11:45 PM I hope Dotson beats out Buzbee in training camp
skinsfan242 05-02-2008, 11:16 AM QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan

DE: Carter, Daniels, C Wilson, D Evans, Dorian Smith
DT: Griffin, Montgomery, Golston, Boschetti
LB: Fletcher, Washington, McIntosh, Blades, K Campbell, Sinclair, Godfrey or Colvin

LS: Red Snapper
Rogers will be on the PUP list for the first 6 weeks then he will take Westbrooks spot. Thrash gets cut unfortunately in favor of Mix who can do everything he can but is younger and can be a viable receving threat. Schmitt makes it as Sellers backup. We sign a veteran LB before camp. Horton and Moore both make it ahead of Fox. We have 9 picks make the team, the only one who doesn't is the DEnd we drafted, he will make the practice squad.
Stuck in TX 05-02-2008, 11:29 AM I predict Alex Buzbee has a phenomenal offseason and is Daniel's or Carter's primary backup. Also, I hope we sign a FA CB b/c I am not comfortable with the current corps we have. Also, Blades emerges as a solid LB in place of McIntosh at first, then the eventual replacement to aging Marcus Washington.
mlmpetert 05-02-2008, 12:35 PM Here's a pretty good read relating to roster hopefulls.
Im honestly pulling for Jerome Mathis. I like Thrash but I dont see this team doing anything special this year, so Id rather take a chance with a guy thats young and could be a solid return man for us for years to come, then a vetren who provides a little stability. Espicailly considering its a new offense for both.
I imagine Mix making it just because of his special teams play. He always seems to be in the right place
Fox at saftey and Thrash at wr seem like hardest decisions to make for Zorn, imo.
We have the chance to be serisouly young at every position but LB, O line, cornor, and rb if we keep most our rookies/signings. Got to wonder if that will have any influence on making the final roster selection. Wernt we the oldest team last year?
