I've been looking at the UFA free agency lists and it doesn't look like there will be much help at DE, but then there never is, unless we sign someone jsut for depth.
LB usually has some people who can help. I think Lemar Marshall is still a FA.
On OL we might just resign some people who were around last year. Pucillo. Ross Tucker was on IR all last year. THere's FA named Floyd Womack who played for Seattle, so he's know ZOrn.
With Brennan rumored to go on IR we still need a third QB. Ex Redskin and Matt Hasselback's brother Tim might still be available.

you should check out the UDFA thread....http://www.redskinswarpath.com/nfl-draft-central/23312-the-official-2008-draft-discussion-thread.html

While one or two of these guys might stick it's best not to expect to much.
I know they picked up a QB, and also have Hollenbach, but if Hollenbach were thought to be able to be developed then Brennan is unecessary. And Meyer would be even more of a project than Brennan.
Schneed10 04-28-2008, 11:53 PM Dude, I have to red flag you right off the bat. You can't go spreading a crappy rumor like Colt Brennan to IR without having a link to back it up. If you can provide a link then cool, otherwise take that junk elsewhere because we don't want any part of it at the Warpath. We pride ourselves on squashing bad rumors, and that's a pretty darn bad one.
As for player acquisition, with the draft over, you pretty much got whatcha got. You always take shots on the UDFA guys, but in reality they're depth/special teamers at best, at least in their first year.
I think we're good to go. I like our offensive line a lot, starters specifically. I think there could be better depth and youth, but it's a reality check for people when they hear other scouts and personnel guys around the league talk about how talented and tough our line is. Jansen's injury is more worrisome than Randy Thomas's. Randy Thomas is still one of the best guards in the NFL, and he's still not getting the credit.
Our defensive line, as currently comprised, did pretty well last year. We had a double digit sack guy, and nine sacks from the other spot (combined from M Washington and C Wilson) and we held up against the run pretty darn well.
This time of year it's easy to get wrapped up in player acquisition. Understandable. But at this point, it's all about making the transition. I could care less who we pick up at this point, I just want to know how well we're transitioning to the west coast offense. That's the key to our season more than anything.

I heard the IR thing on NFL Network when they were discussing some picks so no link.
The positions I listed aren't about starters. I am talking backups. I think Lorenzo Alexander is great, but I haven't heard anything that says he's ready to start a game. So we're short guards once again. Rinehart sounds like something of a project I'm happy with Heyer and Wade. Basically we need a G/C again.
This is from Brennan himself:
"I'm doing great," Brennan said. "The doctor said that I'm on the path to full recovery. The surgery was a complete success. I'm about six weeks to being at 100 percent. For me, I just can't wait to get out there and let their doctors and their staff get me through the rehab process and get me ready for training camp."

SmootSmack 04-29-2008, 12:24 AM To be fair, other than Mike Mayock on NFL Network
There was also this (http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/04/27/colt-brennan-goes-to-washington-to-back-up-jason-campbell-an/)
"Hawaii QB Colt Brennan, who was hampered by his off-the-field transgressions, figures to be placed on injured-reserve due to his late season injury. Brennan knows coach Jim Zorn's West Coast offense and may have a future.
And this (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/24313748/?pg=37#spt_nfl_draft_reportcard2008)
"Sixth-round quarterback Colt Brennan has exceptional accuracy, but will likely spend his rookie season on injured reserve.
Granted, this is all just speculation
bertoskins2 04-29-2008, 12:26 AM sign someone from the streets like stephen heyer and lorenzo alexander

This is probably what he's referring to. Around the 1:00 mark...
