Modell should be furious! The last person I'd want hanging around my NFL team is Spurrier. Maybe they want him to show them HOW TO RUN AN OFFENSE!!!!
Actually, Modell sold the team this off season and has retired.

The Madden cover curse begins as the Ravens are en route to a 5-11 season...
The Post had a good riddance poll up the other day, not sure if it's still there but Smith was the clear winner.
His selfish attitude at the end was pretty disgusting.

5-11? you're far underestimating the sheer genius of billick's offense and the unquestioned might of spurrier's D.

I was actually at the Ravens training camp yesterday and happened to be walking by when I noticed Spurrier attempting to be incognito. I think the whole 'critiquing' thing was just lip-service by the media. I overheard he was in the area playing on the links and happened to stop by. I've also been told that he is just bidding his time until Mack Brown at Texas is fired.

wouldn't hurt to learn how to coach D though... not like one day is going to make a huge difference, and I know i'm just being too optimistic about that (cause i know its not true), but it really wouldn't hurt...

Spurrier was a bust as a head coach in the NFL; there is no question about that. But he can coach QBs and he has developed a few young ones in his day. The Ravens have one of them and they hired Jim Fassel to be his mentor. Bringing in another QB developer for a day or two is not a dumb idea. Now if they give him a permanent job with the team - - that would be a good idea.
Another potential landing place for SS is his alma mater - Tennessee. If Phil Fulmer gets the Vols waxed in another minor bowl game this year, there could be some pressure to bring SS in there.
How many of Spurrier's QB's have gone on to succeed in the NFL??
If I was Billick I'd tell the ball coach to take a hike unless he's there to set a golf date.
