No, not Beast...actually worst than Beast...OM Light, or Old Milwaukee Light.

Although the Pabst Brewing Co bought up a bunch of smaller breweries and have turned them around (Pabst Blue Ribbon won a Gold in 2006 for American Style Premium Lager).

And I've never brewed myself. A buddy of mine has before, and what he made was pretty good. While it would be fun, I've just never done it.

No kidding. I'd like to know what the other 25 entries were that weren't as good as Steel Reserve...

Steel reserve...are you kidding me? Steel Reserve? I would rather drink antifreeze than Steel reserve. That was the cheap stuff that I used to buy when I couldn't afford Natural Ice or Millwaukee's best. I mean, that was the stuff that I bought when I was really scraping the bottom of the barrel for cash. I couldn't give Steel Reserve away after I bought it. How in the hell did it win a gold Medal in anything other than the "American Lager that tastes like paint thinner" category?

See, this is why I laugh every time I see one of those Miller Lite ads where they're boasting that they've won so many World Beer Cups.

So is the World Beer Cup some kind of fluff competition where the majority of people win awards?
