Jake Long. I think it's more than fair to say that if J.Long hadn't gone first, he would have gone in the top 5. Since 1995, these eight tackles have been taken in the top 5:
Joe Thomas, Levi Brown, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Robert Gallery, Jordan Gross, Mike Williams, Chris Samuels, Orlando Pace, Tony Boseli.
While you run this risk of getting a Mike Williams, there is a good chance that your getting a perenial pro-bowl or all-pro player if you take a tackle who is considered to be worthy of a top 5 pick.

Glenn Dorsey. It's easier to generate an outside rush without elite DEs than to generate an inside rush without an elite DT. Moreover, if I had to choose between generating an outside rush or an inside rush, I'd take the inside rush every day of the week. Jake Long would be nice, but I think we have bigger needs along the Dline.

Who should they draft?
Don't think there any rumors that they are trading up for the top overall pick or anything like that, I'm just curious as to who you would want the Redskins to pick if they had the first overall pick.
Please note that this is strictly for the Redskins, so consider what you think the team's needs are and whether you think they should go for need or best player available (or the top need might happen to also be the best player).
And you can't trade the pick.
If they had the pick they should draft Dorsey. When healthy, he's the best player IMO. But we're talking about Snyeratto and we know they are gung ho on wr's. So they'd probably take Devin Thomas.
