I just read that Tom Morello went to Harvard after graduating high school and graduated with honors. I must say I thought the most innovative and absolutely electrifying guitarist ever born (Yes, Better than Hendrix) was enough of a blessing, and apparently he's brilliant too!

Unfortunately Zack's solo CD's release date has been pushed back to late 2k5. That's over 5 years late! GET IT TOGETHER!

Yeah, Morrello is a very bright guy.

I really wish they would get back together for another album and tour.

What they should really do is get that tour going with the Beastie Boys going again. That thing never got off the ground last time, that would be a sick show.

the only guitarist's in hendrix's league r eddie van halen, chuck berry, jimmy page, bb king, stevie ray vaughn, and slash with honorable mention going to angus young of AC/DC. but that's just my opinion and while I did like some of the songs by rage against the machine, I really liked the addition of chris cornell to create Audio Slave cuz like quite a few others I was pretty pissed when sound garden broke apart and it's kewl to see cornell with another strong band again.

As far as pure originality and innovation, it's hard to deny that Morello is at the top of that list.

you forgot petrucci, yngwie, and a whole lot of others ;) but the stuff i listen to isn't always that well known or popular... petrucci is fairly mainstream though...

the great thing about audioslave was they immediatly put on an awesoem show. They were a new band but all experienced rock stars so when they performed live it was already a top flight performance, and not lacking like other new bands.

most of the new bands you hear have already been around 3-10 years ;) but very few of them have done the 25,000 seat arenas before.
