I don't want to diminish what Everett accomplished by walking once more after his devastating injury, but isn't the award about overcoming adversity to succeed on the field? If that's the case, then Everett has yet to do that.

It doesn't seem that the award is limited just to players. According to news accounts, the Halas award goes annually to the "individual in the NFL who overcame the most adversity to succeed last season."

If you read that literally, the award historically goes to a person rather that a team. So ... the Redskins are re-writing history just by being nominated. Good for them.
