I think he's fully emerged from out of under his father's shadow, and it's really showing. I don't know how many people realize how influential his dad was on the culture of the team in the early years.

Dirtbag59 04-02-2008, 04:30 PM Lol, he waited until the middle to hammer him with questions about Gregg Williams. 81+83+84=Posse 04-02-2008, 05:37 PM I love the new approach. I just hope it isn't all lip service. Next offseason will be an interesting one. But Vinny has done everything exactly as he said he would so far. Kind of an exciting time to be a Skins fan actually...... Longtimefan 04-02-2008, 05:42 PM It's not all the time a man will stand up and acknowledge the fact he's made mistakes, take responsibility for them, and vow not to repeat them. It's a quality so many are lacking, and one I can have respect for. FRPLG 04-02-2008, 06:03 PM I think he's fully emerged from out of under his father's shadow, and it's really showing. I don't know how many people realize how influential his dad was on the culture of the team in the early years. I wish more was written about this. Until you mentioned it during the coaching search I had no idea at all that his dad anything more than a normal father to an NFL owner type impact. I'd love to hear more details about this because it strikes me as odd that a guy who had become a multibillionaire by age 34 would rely so heavily on anyone, even his father, in that type situation. I find it fascinating to consider. Was Dan just totally clueless about football and needed someone to tell him what to do? Warren85Ellard 04-02-2008, 08:38 PM From the interview: Joe called me that night. I said, "That guy would make a terrific head coach." He was like, "Really? That's interesting. That's neat. I hear he's a good guy." We continued the process and circled back, and I said, "I'm more comfortable with Jim Zorn and interviewing Jim Zorn than some of these other candidates." "Really? That's interesting. That's neat. I hear he's a good guy." That is Joe Gibbs speak for: "What the **** are you thinking Danny?" Snyder sounds just as meddling and clueless as he always has. I don't want to be pessimistic and I like Jim Zorn's personality, but only time will tell if he's a good coach. I'm still bitter about the way G. Williams was treated too. |
