ABC News: D.B. Cooper's Parachute Possibly Found (http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=4524172)
The FBI is analyzing a torn, tangled parachute found buried by children in southwest Washington to determine whether it might have been used by famed plane hijacker D.B. Cooper, the agency said Tuesday.

Amazing that, after 35 years, this still fascinates people.

Interesting story, I've never heard of it before.

When I read the blurb I thought to myself, "Why would the parachute be buried in Southwest? Didn't he jump out over Oregon or something?" It's the other SW Washington.

You know they're never gonna find out what happened to that guy.

Any conspiracy theorists have a theory? Did he live or die?

FBI: 'Credible Lead' Surfaces in D.B. Cooper Case - FoxNews.com (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/08/01/fbi-credible-lead-surfaces-in-db-cooper-case/?test=latestnews)

This was one of the major stories along with the debt news i heard on the radio this morning...... I saw it again on fox.com. It doesnt look like anyone is saying what the "lead" is or how they are examining it, but im thinking the only way the FBI would call attention to this is if it was pretty legit, maybe one of the bills???

I remembering hearing about a special that was supposed to come on the discovery or history channel earlier this year. Did anyone watch it? I read a magazine piece late last year and basically there are like 5 guys people think it could be. Ill see if i can dig it up, it was a pretty interesting read.

I would've never heard of DB Cooper if it wasn't for that wilderness movie with Dax Shepard and Seth Green in it. Think it's called Without a Paddle.

I saw a good show about this not too long ago, on Nat Geo I think? Seems pretty improbable that he would have lived but who knows.

Yeah i would say that i am in the camp that says the dude died, but you cant help but think theres a slight possibility that he could have made it. That coupled with the fact that almost nothing was ever found and no missing persons that fit his description ever popped up makes you wonder.

I couldnt find the article i read last year but if you read the first 3 or 4 suspects listed under DB's wiki i think thats what the article centered around. Although I think the FBI is saying that the new evidence or lead is completely unrelated to any of the current suspects. Just seems kind of odd the FBI would come out with a press release on of the most high profile unsolved mysteries the US has had, seems like they would rather just keep this blemish quite when possible. Its not like some hunter or kid fumbled upon something while out in wilderness and went to the press, the FBI is saying they have some new leads on a 40 year old case. I would hope they actually have something and arnt just trying to draw attention to themselves.

When I first came to LA in '95 I drank in DB Cooper's in Palms.

Perfect for gameday.

Bouncer on the door "Are carry any weapons?"

Me, confused "NO?"

Bouncer on the door "Then you're gonna need these...." <Offering me a choice of knife, zip-gun, chain etc>
