I agree about there is no comparison...however, how many of them were actually murdered?
The only one I can think of that turned a sport upside down is Dale Earnhardt Sr. Sure unfortunate curcumstances befalled on all of the previous mentioned players (except Bias who with his drug overdose, killed himself) but I can't think of anyone that was murdered like Taylor was...it seems unprecedented to me.
They are all tragic events, and have left a scar on sports. It's a shame.

It's not a contest.

Yea, I don't understand why you would compare and rank peoples deaths.

It's hard to compare tragic events, because each one is so different. At the same time, it is ludicrous to blame ST's surroundings. This tragedy had nothing to do with growing up on the streets of Miami.

ST was killed by a random act of violence. Taylor was doing what anyone would do...he was protecting his home and family. By all accounts Taylor
had turned his life around.

Nothing pisses me more than to hear someone say Taylor's death was a result of his environment. Those that say this are just plain ignorant.

Better end here, because this topic will cause me to get on a soapbox.

Yeah I agree. Tragic events cannot be compared to each other, and everyone here will say that Taylor's environment played no role in his murder. It was an injustice for the experts to suggest that. I think this whole thread is a sham and It will cause more bad and more speachy soapboxing than its worth. I would like to suggest to the MODS that it be closed.
