Cooley1 03-18-2008, 09:33 AM It has been reported that the Denver Broncos are interested in the services of Peppers and are pursuing a possible trade with Carolina for this stud DE. I don’t know about any of you guys but to me there are a few players that I feel willing to give up the farm on, and he happens to be one of them.
I don’t like to start a post on, "oh lets grab this guy", but come on, Peppers and Carter on each end??? So, I just figured I would throw this out there since there doesn’t seem to be a whole bunch of news breaking right now, and see what you think.
Tell me what you think it would take, and do you think if these rumblings get over to Mr and Mrs. Snyderato, they would try and become a player. I would be willing to give up quite a bit to get him in maroon and black!
At 27 this boy has many years left in the tank. Here's the link.
Julius Peppers to Denver Broncos? (http://yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/Julius_Peppers_to_Denver_Broncos/206417)
I'd be a little hesitant to break the bank on him. He had a down year in 2007 and some reports say for whatever reason he lacked the explosiveness he showed in prior years. Let Denver give him the big bucks.
#56fanatic 03-18-2008, 09:46 AM trust me, I live in charlotte and this guy is NOT worth throwing tons of money after. He played absolutely horrible last year. I know that is only one year, but you can't give a guy that kind of money when he is coming off the kind of year he had. He doesn't play the run all that great. He wants to get paid like a star, but does not act like one. He is not a locker room guy, never talks, never takes charge. He was the joke of Charlotte all last year. I unfortunately had to watch some of those games, and he just basically got stood up every snap. no penatration, no rush, he didn't do squat.
stay away from him.
Daseal 03-18-2008, 09:47 AM I really feel that Peppers needs a change of scenery. How many Dlinemen can the Broncos fit on their roster.
I don't know if I'd break the bank, but I'd definitely make a call to Carolina and see what it would take compensation wise. I think I'd offer a 3rd and a late round pick and hold steady there. Considering DHall went for a 2nd.
Cooley1 03-18-2008, 09:48 AM I think the whole team had a bad year last year, and that a player of his magnitude, given his age, will rebound tremendously with a fresh start in a new jersey. I can definitely see why some may be hesitant on this but feel he has 5+ great years in the tank and would be a great bolster to our team, although I understand the likelihood of the new look GM offers little chance for this to happen.
SeanTaylor21 03-18-2008, 09:49 AM He would be nice to have, but he also said that he wants to become the highest paid defensive player in the NFL, so I'm gonna have to pass.

I don't know about many years left in the tank, but he would be worth at least a 4 year contract probably making Dwight Freeney money. To top it all of we would have to give up a high day 1 and a high day 2 pick. Honestly, after all of that I would rather have an offensive weapon like CJ. Our pass rush isn't that bad, but our passing game was woefull.

I agree with you completely and would make the call at least and due your due diligence on this guy. I may have been a little over the top on my "break the bank" statement but I think you all know where I am going, something fair and at market value.
J. Spanky 03-18-2008, 09:52 AM defintely worth looking into. sometimes good players lose motivation when their teams sucks. i'd bet his performance this past year was an aberration. with carter on the opposite end and maybe a hotshot 1st round pick in the middle, our front 4 could be playing at a whole new level next year. i think peppers is an intriguing prospect.
HOWEVER, what would we have to lose for him? i don't mid taking his contract and coughing up a second rounder, personally.
freddyg12 03-18-2008, 09:56 AM wasn't he quoted last year saying something to the effect "I don't love football?"
I recall someone talking about it on espn radio.
