That's basiaclly where I fall. He is a perfect FA acquisition for whoever gets him. he has some talent and wont cost a ton. He is probably better than every WR in the draft except 3 or 4 in the end so there is no bust factor with him basically. We just need so much more than a WR from the draft Our lines could use complete attention. Take all linemen this year and I'd be happy. I know we need a CB but other than that I'd lvoe to see us go overboard on the lines in a perfect world.

I agree the idea of just devoting the entire draft to O&D lineman. We'd be beter served if we fill and develop our core on both sides of the ball.

If we plant the seeds this year we'll be formidable in the years to come.

I agree although I have said on other messages I heard Cerrato on Redskins Radio that one of the draft picks is going to used on a qb to be our 3rd stringer - which is probably a good long term move because you never know what will happen - maybe a severe injury to JC but lets hope not.

I think that we will use 2-3 picks on lineman (hopefully more) with one of the picks on a db as well. I am just excited we have all our picks for this year (pending the extra pick for Dockery we get). So far the restraint by the FO is a breath of fresh air and from the looks of the DJ Hackett situation it looks like we made a fair offer and didn't throw him an obscene contract offer, which is smart because the injury potential and history for DJ is something you have to consider. DJ makes sense in that he is well versed in the system and wants to go over the middle and would be the perfect compliment for Moss and Randle El. The contract numbers I have seen on the board all look reasonable and if he gets that from the Skins that would be a good move for the money.

so far the offseason has been quiet and that is a good thing!

of course there's no details in that blurb, but damn that is cheap! If we offered less, then Vinny is serious about this new approach.

I would imagine there's a lot of incentives in his deal.
thanks for the update

I think the QB pick is a neccesity so we can have someone young who can learn and develop under Jim Zorn, the QB guru.

We bring in someone young with the physical essentials and Zorn should be able to take advantage of his QB coaching expertise.

No QB selections too high though. Those should be reserved for CB and DE. QB should be fourth selection at the earliest.

Just heard the same on Redskin radio. D.J lands deal with the Panthers.

I'm semi surprised if this was the guy the Skins wanted they didn't land him. But, I don't know what the contract details where that the Skins offered?

However, it seems to be a reasonable offer for D.J., and IF he stays healthy it's a really good deal for the Panthers.

If this turns out to be accurate, the folks in Seattle & Zorn must not be very impressed, even though he put up some good numbers when healthy. Or there's a lot more to the recurring ankle injury.

Good he would have been a injury risk anyway & that's more money in our pockets

I may be in the minority but I am very happy Hackett will not be getting paid by the Skins next year. His injuries are too much of a concern, imo. Still, the panthers definitely got him for a good price.

3.5 mil for 2 years?
hmmm...I thought we'd offer him at least 2.
Oh well...looks like one of the below needs will not be addressed in the first 4 picks
DE, DT, OL, CB.

ouch.
