49ers Sign WR Bryant JohnsonSmootSmack 03-14-2008, 01:40 PM I don't have any specifics right now Big C 03-14-2008, 01:42 PM damn theres one lost. dj hackett or bust for free agency now, i really dont want us to have to use a 1st on a WR GTripp0012 03-14-2008, 01:42 PM Hmm. Very interesting. Does this put Darrell Jackson on the hot seat? Or is this just a depth signing due to the age of the starters? I guess we will know when we see the contract #'s. Redskin Warrior 03-14-2008, 01:43 PM I knew it the 49ers & Browns have stacked up for next season seriously GTripp0012 03-14-2008, 01:43 PM damn theres one lost. dj hackett or bust for free agency now, i really dont want us to have to use a 1st on a WRI wouldn't worry about that. We have extended a contract offer to Reche Caldwell. We can always choose to address WR next year when we know more about Santana Moss' future production. GTripp0012 03-14-2008, 01:47 PM I knew it the 49ers & Browns have stacked up for next season seriouslyI could see the 49ers winning a few more games than next year. Browns, I would be surprised if they went .500 next year. Derek Anderson is no guarantee to be any better than we thought he would be before last year (beware the career year), Jamal Lewis is a near lock to be worse, and their offensive line did an amazing job avoiding injury last year, unlikely to happen again as the 2007 Redskins would show. Their defense will be tougher against the run, but they spun their wheels in place against the pass. Corey Williams will provide some pressure, but they dealt their best CB to get Shaun Rogers, and they don't have any draft picks to improve with on that side of the ball. I see 7-9 for them at best, but much, much better in 2009. SmootSmack 03-14-2008, 01:54 PM This means the Bills are almost a lock to take a WR now with their first pick, with Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly being options 1 and 1a GTripp0012 03-14-2008, 01:55 PM This means the Bills are almost a lock to take a WR now with their first pick, with Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly being options 1 and 1aHave they really soured on Lee Evans? I know they already gave Roscoe Parrish an extension last year. GridIron26 03-14-2008, 02:01 PM Have they really soured on Lee Evans? I know they already gave Roscoe Parrish an extension last year. I doubt it, Evans is one of the leaders on the team I believe? If not, he's still best WR on that rooster.. As for Parrish, I saw several Buffalo games and he isn't that great WR.. But he's really good at returning the kicks, probably the reason why Buffalo decided to extend Parrish's contract.. I see 7-9 for them at best, but much, much better in 2009. I don't see the 49ers winning unless Alex Smith proves to be a franchise QB and meets the expectation the team has had of him. I think Cleveland will be much better b/c they have a good QB in Anderson and while yes he could have the career slump, he still has a young Brady Quinn behind him in the depth chart, and I think that will be a good pressure to keep anderson in line. And besides, Anderson performed well as a QB in the AFC, which is a much tougher place to play than the NFC (especially the NFC west). |
