This conversation is very interesting and entertaining.

Look, I'm not a big Spitzer fan by any stretch of the imaginaton but at the end of the day here's a guy - a man - that has to put his life back together. And whether we take exception to his actions or not, there should at least be a shred of sympathy for him and his family.

It's so convenient for us to get on a board, disect one's personal life, provide commentary and cast judgement. Whether it's male bashing or female bashing, what we're really doing is human bashing. Look, this guy screwed up - big time. But let's not make him out to be the worst individual of all time.
Sorry, no sympathy for him. But for his family, yes.

It strikes me that if I were as ugly as Elliot Spitzer, and I managed by being a prominent person to snag a wife that far out of my league, the thought of visiting a whore would be the last thing to cross my mind. I would be too busy thanking God that a woman like his wife would give me the time of day. I wonder what this guy sees when he looks in the mirror? Does he not realize how hideously deformed he is? What a dope.

He met his wife in law school

Well I went back to see how CNN reported this and also the Larry Craig story and here is a link to both. I'm just making the comparison to show media bias.

I am sure it is just the opposite on the Fox "news". Besides the real reason for the press to mention over and over again that a republican got caught with his pants down, when it happens, is that every year the GOP runs on a platform of "family values". But I guess "family values" just means hating gays and minorities.

And you took offense to me saying that you'd have reacted differently if this was a Republican?

Seeing the news tonight I stand by what I said originally, in that this is an "all to common occurrence among people in powerful positions".. Even though some of you would like to believe I'm just male bashing because I’m such an insecure woman, I'm not the ONLY one with this opinion.. obviously! Some of you on this board just wish to - let me use the word – generalize - to make sure you prove some kind of personal perception of the how you think I THINK.

I think I'll just a link to another post of mine in the same thread

Anyhow, I wish you'd explain "all too common" Or at least refrain from saying it, especially if you're going to then say others "generalize"

My post wasn't directed at you Smoot, or I would have replied to your post rather than just posting a comment about the news. My post was directed at those that thought I was male bashing, which you were not.

My "all too common" post was just as they said on the news tonight.. meaning people recently in poweful positions have often found themselves in these situstions over the last few years... Or I should say been caught in these situations. My orignial post was that I think this has become a problem among men in power, which led us down the rode of you all accusing me of male bashing, which I'm not doing. I'm saying it's sad that this had happened so often recently.
