CobraKaiDojo 03-11-2008, 04:52 AM No! Why give up a #1 for someone elses trouble? A #1 is what Atlanta used to draft him to begin with...so that means his antics have not diminished his value at all? I would give a 2 or 3 at most for that guy.
Remember last year when T.O lit us up for 4 touches because Sean was hurt? Well this year Sean is no longer with us, Carlos wasn't impressive BEFORE serious knee injury which makes him iffy at best, and Springs is another year older and injury prone. This season we face the likes of T.O. (twice), Plax (twice), Edwards, Housh , Holt, Fitz, and Roy Williams among others. We can't afford not to go after Hall with whatever it takes. My opinion anyway.
Beemnseven 03-11-2008, 08:00 AM Just how much of a "locker room cancer" is DeAngelo Hall? Can anyone cite actual examples of how his attitude is trash?

his team is willing to trade a 24 year old studish cb on a cheap rookie contract...
and a 5'8" guy isn't going to help a lot on TO or plex grabbing jump balls.
Monkeydad 03-11-2008, 11:24 AM Horrible reporting and discussion.
We hated the feeling of being in suspense over the new coach, now we have to torture ourselves for weeks thinking about a trade that we don't know will happen or if we're even involved.
Yeah, the offseason is great! :D
KLHJ2 03-11-2008, 11:28 AM Oh man. Don't even get me started on Punky Brewster! That show was the bomb! I've had a thing for Soleil since I was like 6.
I think we all remember where we were when Cherie got stuck in the refrigerator

Monkeydad 03-11-2008, 11:31 AM The Miami Herald reports Jason Taylor would like to be traded this offseason.
The Herald suggests that Miami's failure to land free agent OLB Calvin Pace makes a Taylor trade less likely, but a draft-day deal could happen if they pick UVA OLB/DE Chris Long No. 1 overall. Taylor reportedly wants to play on a contender. In the end, the odds seemingly favor a trade being worked out.
Before the riots start, I'm NOT saying we're involved, only this could be the "huge" trade being speculated.

Is Deangelo only 5'8"? Also, I personally think the guy is overrated. He's got speed and agility, but I remember watching him last season and thinking "He's the next Champ Bailey?"

I think most people get the impression by the way he was publicly talking about and criticizing his team's coach last season, but by the end of the season, he was proven right when the coach QUIT because he couldn't handle the job.
He does have an outgoing attitude and that doesn't work well when things aren't going well.
I'm not sure I want him on the Skins but he's not a "cancer" like some people say. If anything, he was sticking up for the team last year, even if he didn't pick the right way to do it.
WaPo reports we were interested, but I don't see it happening:
As I reported a while back, the Skins contacted Atlanta about CB DeAngelo Hall a few times during the combine, but the Hall talks have not progressed with any team. (His agent has not even been given permission to talk contract with anyone yet, sources said). Many clubs have serious concerns about his attitude, maturity, makeup, and how he might alter team chemistry. The guy is only 24 and has elite talent, but the Redskins just got flamebroiled by B-Lloyd and are no doubt thinking twice about going big for a player with similar issues.

He's got speed and agility, but I remember watching him last season and thinking "He's the next Champ Bailey?"Every established No. 1 receiver in the NFL can burn D'Angelo Hall with consistency. We do have a need for a player with his skill set (i.e. top end No. 2 corner), but that skill set should cost us roughly a 4th round pick, and 3-4 million dollars a year.
Because D. Hall can run his mouth and alienate his coaches, it masks the fact that he isn't, nor will ever be a great player. He's got better speed than Carlos Rogers, but Rogers is more technically sound and has been developing better year to year than Hall, and some people on this board still think he's a bust. If that's the case (and it's opinional), then how is Hall not reaching bust territory.
Pro bowls are good for nothing except artificially inflating value. D. Hall is looking for 20 mil guaranteed somewhere, and that's more money than I'd be willing to give him in total.

Well the main problem was that Monday night game right after Vick was indicted when the Falcons played the Saints and Blank wanted the focus to be on the game, Hall came running out with some Vick banner (or flag, something like that) and he wrote MV7 on his eye black.
Blank saw that as insurbodination when the whole team had been told not to bring more attention to the matter than it already had.
Hall is an outspoken guy, but that was one time he probably shouldn't have been so loud.
