Rock gets new deal with Skins (3 yrs, $3.35M)Paintrain 03-07-2008, 07:50 PM D'Angelo Hall!? Michael Smith on Sportscenter said that it's between us and Oakland for a D. Hall trade. Luxorreb 03-07-2008, 07:50 PM I'm glad about the Rock deal. But I would be extremely happy if we were saving up to hire D'Angelo Hall. Longtimefan 03-07-2008, 07:50 PM Providing "The Rock" is happy, that's one less position we have to worry about. So far, we can't say the team is not making a conscious effort to resign their own players first before signing players from the outside. EARTHQUAKE2689 03-07-2008, 07:52 PM i heard that michael smith thing I dont wanna give up a number one for him MTK 03-07-2008, 08:21 PM Good news! skinsfan_nn 03-07-2008, 08:25 PM JLC is a little late on this one, but he was on Comcast...... Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/) Posted at 7:19 PM ET, 03/ 7/2008 Rock Stays From Jason Reid: Return specialist Rock Cartwright is back. Sorry it took me so long to get this to you guys but I was on Comcast SportsNet's "Washington Post Live" and couldn't check my voicemail. Vinny Cerrato, executive vice president of football operations, called to say that the team reached an agreement with Rock. Terms were not released, but a team source said Rock received a three-year, $3.35-million deal that includes $500,000 in guaranteed money. Rock was believed to be seeking a guarantee of $2 million, but it appears those dollars just weren't out there for him. "The coaches are all real happy Rock is back," Cerrato said. "You always want to keep your leaders on the team." Darrell_Green_28 03-07-2008, 08:28 PM KR Cartwright agrees to $3 million, 3-year deal with Redskins - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-redskins-cartwright&prov=ap&type=lgns) FRPLG 03-07-2008, 09:02 PM Good deal. I'd have given him a mil just to be nice. Reduce the salaries and make the deal the same amount. He isn't going anywhere for 3 years anyway plus it'd give him some more security. MTK 03-07-2008, 09:03 PM If anyone deserved a nice pay increase it's Rock. $3 years, $3M isn't too shabby for a former 7th round pick. firstdown 03-07-2008, 09:10 PM If anyone deserved a nice pay increase it's Rock. $3 years, $3M isn't too shabby for a former 7th round pick. How much of an increase did he receive? Isn't the vet min around $800'000? I'm glade he is back but I feel sorry that he could not even find a team that had an interest in him. I guess he must have to have mixed emotions about the deal. |
