6 Rec 124 Yds and a TD. WTF? This week we eat crow.
And the week before he blocked a punt and scored a TD all on the same play.

He didn't block it, he just caught it and ran it in. redsk1 09-23-2008, 03:01 PM B Lloyd has talent. Alot of talent. He didn't get any playing time and our offense was not "reciever" friendly. I'm not placing blame on him or the coaches, but the fact is he really didn't play often here. BleedBurgundy 09-23-2008, 04:41 PM He's a talented player, no question. He's a douchebag, no question. So he's a talented Douchebag. Can we drop it now? Daseal 09-23-2008, 06:03 PM JoeRedskin, I find it interesting you still put all the blame on Lloyd. Before he comes to DC he's a productive player. When he leaves DC he's a productive player. Is the issue Lloyd or DC? I'm willing to bet DC. He may be a douchebag, I hear lots of players are douchebags. Unfortunately, it's part of the sport. Fact is -- you need to get on the field to make plays. He rarely was on the field, and even rarer was he targeted for a pass. I'm not shocked that never seeing the field makes someone upset. Especially when they sign a large contract and expecting to get play time. Regardless of the reason -- Lloyd didn't get a chance here and I think we missed out on a talented guy. T.O.Killa 09-23-2008, 06:08 PM tj duckett got good yardage and a TD for seattle this week too... that doesn't mean he doesn't suck though. he, like lloyd, just needs equally sucky players around them to be comfortable enough to look good. the type of player that can only look good when his team looks bad isn't the type of player i want around. Well, this is not his first good game he has had. The Redskins blew it, with him. Every player always said he had alot of talent, they just did not work well with him. MTK 09-23-2008, 09:07 PM Some players are just better fits on different teams. Lloyd wasn't exactly the best locker room guy and I think that had a lot to do with his troubles here with an old school type of coaching staff. Yeah the guy has talent but his worth ethic was questionable as well as his route running. I don't think either side is more to blame. It just didn't work out. Regardless of the reason -- Lloyd didn't get a chance here and I think we missed out on a talented guy.Your opinion is noted and respected, but I think it's misleading to say he was "productive." When he was in SF, he was the most targeted player on a dreadful offense, and caught roughly one third of balls thrown his way. That's pretty convincingly terrible. I agree that Lloyd is off to his most productive start of his career this year, and Chicago's offense may actually benefit from having a receiver that doesn't get separation, but will catch the ball anyway. Of course, for a majority of offenses, that leads to unnecessary interception risk. For Gibbs, that meant he couldn't play. I know you'll put that one on Gibbs, but for pretty much all coaches, that means he can't play. And if Lloyd is willing to play hard for Ron Turner and Ron Turner is willing to put his last life as an NFL coordinator on Brandon Lloyd as a starting WR, more power to them both. But he's just not very good, and even if the Bears can manage to salvage something out of his career, they probably could have been more productive if they used their efforts on a more promising talent, IMO. GTripp0012 09-23-2008, 09:20 PM Well, this is not his first good game he has had. Yes, but I believe it IS the second! The Redskins put a huge premium on character, especialy under Gibbs. Just kind of sucks with all we did and gave for that idiot. The Bears signed him for nothing. |
