What'chu talkin' 'bout no Tatino Spikes?!?!?!
Ok, I should explain that: back when I was in college there was a brief time that Spikes (while with the bengals) tried to start up a rivalry with Ray Lewis, who was in his prime. Spikes said something like Lewis was overrated and that he was better and when a reporter told Lewis this his response was What'chu talkin' 'bout no Tatino Spikes?!?!?!. For some reason it killed me, and to this day I say it everytime I hear the man's name.
For that reason, plus the fact that he's older (but he'd probably be a good backup), I don't want him anywhere near the Skins.
STUCK IN TEXAS you were not the first so BAM!!

Of course.
He doesn't have the speed to play OLB in my opinion. He's been an MLB his entire career, and he's become very injury prone the past few years. Fletcher will be solid at MLB for us for another 2 seasons or so I would imagine, and in the meantime HB Blades will continue to develop as his eventual replacement. Chances are someone will be interested in Spikes as a starter. I doubt he comes here to play out of position as a reserve.

if the guy could still play, he would still be in Philly. their linebackers are a mess. and spikes didnt make alot of money. i say thanks, but no thanks. only a shell of the former all star

He made pretty good money considering age/injury issues. They saved $5M off this year's cap by cutting him today.

Do you think Blades will get a look at outside due to our thin depth at this point? Spikes could be a reserve for us.

We are probably going to lose (he aleady is a UFA) Godfrey. I don't see any reason why Spikes can't just step into his spot for a reasonable price.

I'd take Colvin over Spikes (though neither may even stay healthy enough to last past the first month)

We dont need an injuried guy over 30 with a big name to ride the bench behind a starter over 30.
If we're gunna pick up depth at MLB...it should be with youth.
If we're gunna pick up a short term starter at OLB...then we should look elsewhere.
I dont see Spikes as an OLB at this point
