Where is this Anthony Mix nonsense coming from? Does he come up big in Madden or something? Are we talking about the same Mix who has 3 catches in 3 years in the NFL? The same guy who had 288 yards receiving his Senior years and 294 yards his Junior year? Is this what we've come to around here?

Why do people think that free agents are going to take a bs deal like that? He's out to get the most he possibly can from whomever will give it to him.
Good point...I don't think we have what it takes to convince a player to take a one year deal....I mean the Patriots can do that b/c they are contender...and b/c Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Hoody can convince them to do so. I hope they are able to sign him to a good deal.

I say sign him to a prove it deal like the Patriots do. First year low numbers then a Roster bonus due if he performs well. If not Oh well it was just a one year signing with a minimal cap hit in the next year. If it does work out we got a receiver who can play to complement Moss and ARE.
Sure. The Skins are totally in a position to dictate the terms to the guy. (note heavy sarcasm). The Pats get to say "come here and play for a Championship NOW." The Skins say "Please come here, we have a new and unproven coach but we think we might be able to pull a wild-card berth."

Ok. Buddy, you're right we can't dictate terms at all. I have a few questions. does Hackett have a Job? Has he got what he wants to date? Where else has he visited? Thank you.

Who said anything about a BS deal? In a prove it deal you still get more than the minimum and you have a chence to get alot of money. A receiver who sees that there is not a BIG market for him and he needs to prove he can stay healthy would be a fool not to take one. But you're right the Skins have no leverage.

What is a 'prove it' deal? He's not coming off of a career (or even season) threatening injury, legal or lockerroom troubles or anything negative. What is he having to "prove"? Kinda silly to think he'd be a fool not to take a substandard deal (especially with the $$ floating around out there) in week 3 of free agency..

He hasn't played a FULL season yet. It is simply a deal structured that he would get about $2.5 million guaranteed including first year salary, then he would have a roster bonus of say $5-10 million for next year that can be spread over the rest of his six year contract or we can cut him and eat about $500,000 to a Million in dead cap. He would count about $1.5 this year and if he plays well he gets a big bonus and will be here awhile. It is a little risk but he is still goin gto get about $2.5 million for one year.

First, take a breath.
Second, he's a free agent; he wasn't fired.
Third, the Bills, TB, the Titans, the Skins and of course Seattle, have all expressed interest. While I don't have his travel itinerary on hand, it's not as if the guy is driving a beer truck.
Fourth, you're welcome. Have a great evening. :)
