ESPN and NFL Network has reported that Asante Samuel is in Philly today and they are working on a deal that could be announced as early as tonight.
No link, sorry just heard it on the radio and telelvision.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 years, $65 million. Press conference tentatively scheduled for around 4:30p I think.
I have numerous words for the descriptive magnitude of that transaction. However, none seem extreme enough, nor are they acceptable here...............

Seriously ridiculous. Aren't they rumored to be shopping Sheppard? How does it make sense to break the bank for a CB that is barely. if at all, better than the guy you are trying to get rid of? That seems dumb.

Is today a sign of things to come?
On the 1st day of FA, we sit tight & re-sign our backup qb, while the iggles of all teams sign the most expensive guy on the mkt.
I like it. I know the iggles finished strong & could be quite competitive next year, but I like it that they're overpaying.

I think he's good but no way would I pay Samuel that kind of money. I don't blame NE for letting him walk. Free agency is crazy.

Whether they overpaid or not, it kinda sucks that they have a pretty good corner that we have to go up against twice a year. Philly usually keeps a modest cap I believe....hopefully this keeps them from signing someone that could really hurt us like Randy Moss
