Collins will be here next year to back up Campbell, at the very least.

I think TC could be a great match for this offense. He does lack mobility which will hurt but he is super accurate and is a smart player who can pick the offense up and understand how to execute it. As a backup he can be valuable. His mobility can be offset with more 3 step drops which are a staple in some forms of the offense. This is a good move to me. Seems like a liked guy so it is good for the locker room.

Anyone else stoked that our priority FA siging was Todd Collins? Way to show some level headedness and restraint.

I like that we're focusing on our own guys first and taking a wait and see approach to the FA market.

I hate to say I called this, but I kinda did say that I thought there was a good chance TC would be back. WHERE'S MY CREDIT?! ;)

This is great news. And Todd is here because while Jason will be given every chance to show he can lead, there will be a point in which if we just aren't succeeding with him, Todd will take over.

That will be good for Jason. He'll have a great teacher in Coach Zorn, and time to learn the offense without worrying about looking over his shoulder if he makes a mistake. However, if he is chronically mediocre, then eventually, a change will be made. So he will have pressure, just not immediate pressure. It will keep him focused.

It wouldn't be good to have everything riding on Jason's development, and him staying healthy. Todd is an outstanding player and gives us a great insurance policy, and he will be able to assist in coaching Jason as well.
