QBall 02-28-2008, 10:32 AM I love this quote from the article, "I think he's cited that he's had seven offensive coordinators in the years he's played college and the pros,'' Zorn said. "I just say, 'That's the way it goes.' I can't change that. He can't change that. What we can do is not [dwell] on that. We can't use that as a reason he can't do something. He should be able to do a lot of things now. That's the way I look at it, you should be able to do everything now that you've had so many offensive coordinators."
It tells me that Zorn is going to be tough love type of coach with Campbell.. Enough with the excuses (although that's more of a media thing than a Campbell thing I believe) let's just focus on getting the job done and getting you and this team where you need to be.
Yeah that's what I loved about this article also. Think that JC may lack a bit of mental toughness and Zorn will make sure he's tough. It did worry me how JC would make those key interceptions to lose instead of win on too many occassions. He also was off on many passes too often, he lacked focus and sharpness. Zorn is the best thing that could have happened for his career. I did hear JC in articles cite the offensive system thing and its awesome Zorn publicly shuts that shit down!!!!!

Chalk it up to inexperience.
He often drove us into position to win, he just needs to take that next step and start sealing the deal.

I agree for the most part. He's such a talent and the skills all there for a franchise player. Hope he turns the corner which I'm sure he will.
I'm not really a gambling man any longer but I would have bet the house that JC would NOT have taken us 4 straight into the playoffs. Just didn't have that feeling. Not trying to be negative.

Not trying to be negative.I mean, it's tough to say. He played a majority of the first half against Chicago, and would have beaten them. The defense led the way the rest of the way, but if he had been picked off multiple times along the way, then perhaps we would have lost to the Vikings or the Giants.

Who knows and honestly it's not really relevant at this point.

I'm not sure if we would have beaten the Bears. This is a dumb arguement but who knows. Collins hit Yoder for a perfect pass and JC just looked lost and his confidence shaken badly IMO.
Think the time to sit and watch and reflect did him well. Zorn will make sure he's stellar and ready to work and win. Think better stats and more wins in our future with JC.

huh?
JC was playing well before he got hurt, he was 10/16 for 100 yards.

Fair. Collins looked better though. He was on fire down the stretch, maybe it would have or could have happened. I"m just one man.

Bill B 02-28-2008, 11:08 AM Just to recap. the past month:
1. Hired a relatively unheralded coach who is known for being a great teacher, and a high-character guy.
2. Promoted Vinny to the executive personnel position (effectively making him our general manager)
3. Announced that we would be taking a conservative approach to a free agency market that we perceive to be a seller's market
4. Retained a great deal of our coaching staff
5. Quelched any potential for a QB controversy
6. Removed a talented, high-priced player who was a cancer
My opinion? These are all the right moves. In just one month my perception of the Redskins and Snyder has really changed quite a bit.
Here's to hoping they keep it up
As much as I have bashed the FO before I like what they are doing know and totally agree with your points. Now if the Skins can just keep their word and not go bonkers in Free Agency and also keep their picks it will be a successful offseason. I know that agents hate what Vinny said about the Skins being quiet, but Vinny and Dan may have learned from the rescent past that going after the big names does not always pan out.
