It's tough to believe that simply because I can't recall the last time I saw a post from you giving praise to the team of any sort.

You may think positive things about the team, but since you don't seem to post them, you come across very negative.

He did say he loved the selection of Zorn as HC, but that's about the only positive thing I can find looking at his last 50 posts or so.

It'd be an easier pill to swallow if it was an unrestricted free agency move...but it wasn't. It was a trade, a bad trade. The only solace we can take, I suppose, is that the Niners wasted the picks.

Can anyone be a nerd real quick and research who the 49ers got at those picks, so we can see how much the FO messed up by going with Lloyd over draft picks.

the 11$mill, wasted roster spot, and waste cap/time isn't enough?

I guess so. Can't really fault Gibbs for the move. We came so close in 05' and needed offense. The guy looked good in SF but who really knew what type of headcase Lloyd really was.

Although I do think that giving draft picks away for right now players is not a good strategy. Think we're shying away from that but who knows with this draft.

Is there anyone on the board you envision us trading up for?

If the FO had done their homework they would've known he was a bad locker room guy. I remember reading about Lloyd in a fantasy football magazine and it was saying how he ( and Kevan Barlow) were HATED by all of the veterans that were on SF. It said that he was more worried about his dread locks and music career rather than playing football. Now if I can pick this out of a magazine then I'm sure our FO can pick up the phone and ask around. Don't ya think?? But hey, that's all in the past and he's a gone so let's move forward.

I'd prefer that we don't pick any wr's in the first two rounds. DE and guard would be my first two choices. It looks like we can and should make a move for Hackett. He's put up some big numbers when he's healthy so maybe he'll come here and take the next step. But only for the right price.

LOL!!! I kind of agree with you. I don't ever want to talk about this bum again. One of the worst moves ever by the FO.

Interesting "talking points" from Kornheiser & Wilbon on Loyd. Pay attention to what Wilbon says early on; that people in the front office said no to signing Loyd.

Did Tony say that Snyder signed Stubblefield? C'mon Tony do your homework. We signed Stubby in 1998, that didn't happen on Snyder's watch.

good catch, that was in the ownerless year when John Cooke was runnin things sorta, right?

otherwise, this bit was quite revealing about the decision making at Redskin Park. Wilbon said after Gibbs retired that in several instances the team would've been better off if they'd listened to V. Cerrato. Wonder if this was one of those cases.
