i was just curious if anyone knew what comp picks well get this year? i always get confused about the process ,and forget when they determine and give out the picks. i know it has something to do with free agents lost from the previous year. but i don't know about players who have died ,and if teams get compensation .did Denver get a comp pick for d Williams a db when he was shot and killed? but a comp pick or two would be nice if we do trade picks for a player ,like there has been rumored.

Halodoc,
It is very tough to read your posts. Please capitalize the first letter of each sentence and try to use abbreviations sparingly. For example, your post would be much easier to read if were typed as follows:

We are unlikely to get any picks and we certainly don't get any picks for Taylor. Draft picks are awarded based on the difference between losses to free agency (taking into account the caliber of the free agents lost) and free agent acquisitions.

I gotta say though that was one of halodoc's best composed posts. Needs work still but it could be a step in the right direction

I think that we should get money or a comp pick, we have lost our if not best, one of the best players and money via his contract. I want to know how much money we might get from his contract. Anybody know?

not positive about this, but im pretty sure denver got zilch when their player died. Not only that, but i looked to the cap sheet, and it looks like we have to take a cap hit due to having to cut sean taylor due to his death

This is right. You don't get compensated when a player dies and Taylor will still count against the cap. It's not a good system obviously.

I realize it is preaching to the choir but how could they (the NFL) not have cap adjustment in the case of death?
