Depending on what the Raiders are asking for I think we should make a run for this kid. Huff was the 7th pick in 2006, in his two seasons he has started every game for the Raiders. Huff hasn't been overly productive with only one interception in his two seasons, but I think he has huge potential especially if we pair him up with an elite safety like Landry. IMO Huff would be a significant upgrade over Doughty. Whether we look at Huff or not the safety position needs to be addressed this offseason.

the skins may upgrade the safety position but i don't think it's as important as the o-line or the d-line. really, i don't think it's even as important as adding another wr,maybe a cb and maybe another lb. i think reed doughty did a fine job and he consistantly got better as the season went on.

I loved this guy at Texas, always around the ball - great athlete. I thought & still think he'll be a good one. However, the point in the article about the raiders spending too much on db's might say it all for us too.

Of course, w/ST & Landry we were paying 2 safeties big $, but both were game changers. If Huff is not on that level then he's not worth that big #7 pick contract, so my guess is we won't try & make any deal here.

Please find another source. I don't trust PFT for anything. Mainly becasue the amount of rumors they've put out that were way off base makes the chances of this being true minimal. PFT reminds me of those magazines you see at the checkout lines in grocery stores with stories like "Satans face spoted over Capital Building" or "Donald Trumps Gay Affair."

Also Freddyg12 your forgetting that if Huff screws up we can release him without any cap penelty since the Raiders will get charged for the signing bonus. Making us responsible only for his base salary.

Yet still, please find another source.

I would love to bring him in for a late round pick or such, he hasn't been that impressive in Oakland but if we were able to coach him up and make him into a productive starter we could still have a great safety tandem for years.

If Oakland is ready to give up on him after 2 seasons I say no thanks

every time I seen zorn he speaks about replacing Sean. If this is the case getting Huff would be good for the team. Plus you know raiders would do a redskin friendly trade

It would be nice to see Huff in a Redskin jersey but we don't have the cap room for him. He's one of the highest paid safeties in the league. If we were to get him it would probably be for our 2nd round draft pick which we need to keep to build our future. Reed Doughty also deserves a chance prove himself. For the few games he's been in he's shown everyone he's actually pretty decent and might have some potential to develop into a dependable starter like Michael Huff.

I say we go with Reed and see how it works out.
