A first and a third for a guy who has only played a full season once in four years? Last year Randle El played in 15 games, caught 51 passes for 728 yds at a 14.3 YPC clip. Keep in mind he's a #2 receiver here. Williams started 12 games, caught 64 for 838 which comes out to a 13.1 YPC average. He's had one great year and three very average years. A first and a third seem like a lot to give up on a guy who has proven to be fragile and has not proven to be a bona fide #1 receiver. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see what he could do for the Skins as well but I wouldn't give up the farm for this guy.
I think Roy Williams is going to be a star in the league. I see your numbers but they are numbers in Detroit with Martz & Kitna. He's still young...IMO he's worth the picks. We may end up spending the #1 pick on an unproven WR anyway...the extra #3 just ensures we get a good one.

I hear you. I would just be a little gun-shy giving up 2 high round picks for a guy who has proven to be fragile (can't argue that) and blames his production on the system. He can't take the credit for his 1310 yd season (a season in which the Lions had two 1000+ receivers) and then blame the same system the next year (in which he was out gained by Shaun McDonald and was only a few yards ahead of rookie Calvin Johnson). I wouldn't mind picking him up for a 1 and a lower round pick but I think the team needs to hold on to their higher round picks.

I would love to get him for less but if the Eagles offers are true then we will need to offer more then they are. Unless we have a player copmparable to Lito that we can include then we need to offer better draft picks.
I just can't believe they would take any offer from Philly that does not even include a #1...then again Matt Millen is on the other end of that phone.

I would have to think about it.
I would do it for a #1 and a low pick straight up. I would even be willing to trade one of our receivers, ARE and a mid-low pick for RW.
RW and SM as a 1-2 WR threat is not bad. Matter of fact, i would go out on a limb and say it would be one of the best tandems in the league. Throw in Cooley and wow. I'd be excited.

In a heartbeat.
What's the deal with this though. Why is detroit trying to unload him? It seems to me that he and CJ make a pretty potent team and a huge benefit to any QB they start.
I think they realize that they have too much money invested at the WR position and are trying to diversify and spread out the cap $ evenly amongst the positions.
Plus, with his salary gone, they can use it for draft picks or free agent signings.

I don't have the numbers in front of me on anyone specific but the way the redskins restructure contracts and backload money it makes most of their good players untradable because of the cap hit they would take. I remember they had a heck of a time getting together the cap room they needed to trade Coles. I think the skins are pretty much reduced to trading with draft picks.

Ledell Betts would be perfect for Detroit.

He signed a pretty cap friendly contract also...he might be the one player the skins could work into a trade...but that's assuming the league has any interest in Betts. RB is a position that tends to get devalued around the league.

LOL, that's a Madden trade offer.. Williams is just outside the elite WR in the game so that would be grand larceny if they could pull that off... Lito is being pimped more than a Time Square hooker, his value is next to nothing now..
just to be an ass...there are only three slots in Madden for trades, not four. god im so good at that game.
