Thu, 28 Feb 2008 10:14:34 -0800
Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports unrestricted free-agent QB Trent Green has been cleared to play football in 2008. During an exclusive interview with FOXSports.com, Green said he was cleared to play last week by Dr. Cantu, one of the most well-known neurosurgeons in the country. Dr. Cantu said Green did not show any symptoms after tests taken by Cantu and said there is no reason that Green shouldn't play. Green said he wants to play again because he has a small window of opportunity. "I've talked to a number of former players and guys who have been long retired and some recently retired for help on this and they all said the same thing, 'If you can keep playing and you want to keep going then keep playing. You only have one window for your career and once that window closes, there's no going back. It's over.'" Trent said his family supports his decision to return to football and said a few teams have talked to him about signing him as the No. 2 quarterback, while other teams have spoken with him about competing for the starting job. He also said he has not had any symptoms of the concussion he suffered in the 2007 season.

Thu, 28 Feb 2008 11:10:23 -0800
Adam Caplan, of Scout.com, reports the Tennessee Titans placed a second-round tender on TE Bo Scaife Thursday, Feb. 28.
Troupe is a guy we should seriously consider. Huge upgrade at #2 TE... 6'4" 270 lbs, good numbers for a #2 TE, age 25, shouldn't be very expensive. improves tyler ecker/todd yoder's spot dramatically.
That Guy 02-28-2008, 10:12 PM Titans should sign Berrian
i wouldn't really be against him, but there's a high chance he'll break 6mil a year, and that'd be counter-productive for us (filling other needs, down the road, so much cash at WR already, etc).
troupe is the first guy i've seen that i'd really like that's not franchised or trade bait. i mean, dyson and hackett are other guys i'd like to have too, but troupe would actually be a little bit more than a stop gap.
SmootSmack 02-28-2008, 10:22 PM Ecker may be a pleasant surprise. I heard he's really been impressing people at Redskins Park. How exactly? I don't know.
That Guy 02-29-2008, 02:31 AM Free Agent Update
Todd Collins is set to hit the free agent market and will draw heavy interest from Jacksonville and St. Louis among others. He will likely let the Skins match any offer, and we'll see where the money goes. Coach Jim Zorn flew to Quincy, Mass. today to Todd's home, to meet with him, league sources said, but the sides have no deal and he's ready to test the waters.
Skins have talked recently to agents for Reche Caldwell, Jason Fabini and Derrick Frost as well. All will hit the market (Skins did not budge on their offer to Frost, he's rejected it and the Skins will monitor him through free agency). Not many other free agent punters out there, but don't see Frost garnering much interest. Pierson Prioleau and Randall Godfrey could be moving on.
Around the league, the trade market is cooking and those D Tackles are moving fast. Sources say Stroud and Rogers could be swapped and Jacksonville looking for at least a second rounder for Stroud and would retain him unless value is offered. Corey Williams has been traded to Cleveland - it will be announced come midnight, sources said, and another name player, Jon Vilma, is very very close to beaing dealt to the Saints (Sources said the Skins nosed around on him but nothing serious).
DeAngelo Hall is still out there but I would be surprised if the Skins stepped up to the point of getting that done, but you never know in this wacky business.

lots of big news here. browns bid against themselves for anderson, tendered him (1st and 3rd to get him for another team), and now really hard balling him (they do have quinn, but anderson is stupid not to take the money, unless he knows he can get a 5 year deal elsewhere...
