On February 22 John Clayton of ESPN reported that the redskins have shown some interest in aqcuiring CB Deangelo Hall from the Atlanta Falcons. As you know Hall is an elite NFL CB with 4.2 forty speed and great instincts. Would he be worth trading our 21st overall pick for (or even worth getting period, he sounds like the kind of player that might bring an attitude)? With him in added to our secondary we'll have 4 CB's with starting experience.

he's young and can play. i don't really like how he thinks he's better than he is, but he's a legit starter with a very cheap (cap friendly) contract.

the problem is, he'll want a new contract, and he'll cost us a 1st round DE... though he would make springs moveable we'd need a signing on the DL that's 26 or younger to really keep on track of filling needs, and both signings would be far more expensive than draft picks like campbell/porter etc.

It's tempting, especially if we consider taking a corner with the first pick. You'd be lucky to get someone close to Hall's skill with the 21st pick. The problem, as TG points out, is that he is going to command a monster contract, something in the Dwight Freeney range. For that reason it's tough to justify going and getting him.

id do it, hes the age of many players coming into the draft (24), yet he has been in the league since 2004 and is a playmaker, he causes turnovers and we need more of that.

yea he'd be great, but if we got him who would start? Theres no way he would want to be a backup or the nickleback. Would we cut springs? It would make cap room for Briggs. I think we should draft a CB with the #21 and then next year promote him to the starting room when we don't resign springs

The only times ive seen him getting burnt were when he had no safety help deep. He's shut down both T.O. and CJ. And as i recall in the first redskin-cowboy game didnt T.O. have 4 touchdowns. Instant Upgrade.

I agree 100%
He is a solid starter and has tremendous speed.
Unfortunately he talks like he is deion. He thinks he is a shutdown corner but he is far from it.

I remember watching the eagles vs falcons season opener a few years ago.
TO lit him up for 8+ catches and 140+ yards and after the game, Hall said that he shut down TO. Ever since then, Ive had zero respect for the guy.
