1) Larry Fitz
2) Roy Williams
3) Chad Johnson
4) Dj Hackett

I would be thrilled to get either one of these receivers, they are all game changers

When did Hackett get in this company? If the Redskins see Hackett as being anywhere near the level of CJ or Fitz then we are about to hand over one of the all time worst free agent contracts in NFL history...

I picked hackett because of his connections with Zorn, but I wish there was an option of none. I really don't think we need a receiver just because Moss dropped a couple of ball in mainly just one game(GB). I think ARE, McCardell, Caldwell and Trash are fine. WCO isn't really really huge on receivers just more the QB right?

Why not spend our money on a LB, S or CB? Please someone tell me why we should waste big bucks on a receiver beside the reason "he is big and psychical"..cough..Michael Westbrook..cough cough anyone?

One game?

WR is a need because guys like McCardell, Caldwell and Thrash are probably on the way out. So at the very least we need some depth.

Outside of 2005 Moss has been disappointing and not a #1 caliber WR.

At the bottom of the link you will see "Release Fees". Click on that tab and you will see the player's salary and release fee. If a player is released or traded the cap for that year will be hit with the "Release Fee", but the player's salary is then off the cap. So for ARE you wind up with $ 6.1M in dead-cap. Sometimes you have the June 1 cuts which I believe are allowed to be spread over two cap seasons, but the total Release Fee amount must be accounted for.

Lloyd's release fee is $ 7.1M, his salary is $ 4.2M, dead cap will be $ 2.9M, much more manageable, especially when he was completely non-productive.

OK, thanks...I think I get it now. I didn't even see those tabs the first time, I appreciate you pointing it out. I do have a couple questions:

I if they get traded does the same release fee apply???

I am also curious as to how it works for those with a smaller release fee than salary...does that mean we get that many back towards the cap?

No kidding.
It's like I said before the season started, last year was Lloyds last chance to become someone in the NFL, if he didn't, he would never be anyone special. I was right about it, however, I was wrong in thinking he would do well for us last year. It's a shame to have that much talent wasted. Damn shame.
