What a sad story. Kudos to the Rams for paying the man during his time of sorrow.
My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

That really is a classy move. I guess sometimes there are people out there that think more about family than the bottom line.

That's really hard. I hope him and his family make out fine, thats a tough loss of your wife at such a young age. Thoughts and prayers go out to The Garretts.
Great job on behalf of the Rams to do the right thing.

What makes it worse is this: Garrett's wife, Kathy, died Aug. 19 at age 38 after a brief illness.
A "brief illness"???? Do they even know what she died from? Seems like one of those things where everything is fine one day, and the next, even though she's young, she dies. That shocker with all those kids has to be one of the worst things that can happen to this guy.

My prayers certainly go out to the Garrett family in such a tragic and sorrowful time.
His three young children will now have to go through life without their mother, and that's always difficult to deal with. RIP

Damn that really sucks. I'd hate to lose someone that important at such a young age myself. Kudos to the Rams for honoring his contract, that's a really nice move.

A classy move by the Rams organization. It just reminds you that there are things much more important than football.

Damn, thats a great story. Personally if I was in that situation and didn't have any kids then the last thing I would want to do is leave a job that helps keep my mind off of what happened. However considering the kids probably need to be around one of their parents to get through this rough patch, then the decision is for the better.
