This is my readjusted picks seeing what we are doing right now

I think you're right in that Josh Johnson would still be available to us in the 3rd round but I think we have to many holes to fill to be using a 3rd round pick on a QB. Especially since that QB is going to be a 3rd stringer for the next 3 years. Also, considering that our last two 3rd round picks were Derrick Dockery and Chris Cooley, I have an enormous amount of faith in our front office to find talent at this point in the draft.

Also it's possible that Jordy Nelson could be available with that 3rd round pick, though I bet that the guy will go early in the 3rd round, and it seems very possible to me that Snyder could use that 1st round pick on Devin Thomas, especially if a deal with Hacket falls apart.

Dre Moore right now is projecting among some scouts as a 2nd round pick. Of course Troy Smith was projected as a 3rd round pick last year and ended up going two rounds later. Personally I would love to acquire the guy, but I don't think he last past our 3rd round pick, if that.

Besides Josh Johnson threw WAYYYY to many interceptions last year :D

A few Defensive Ends to watch out for. Some of these are guys that might be available when our 3rd round supplemental comes up. Others will be available when we pick in the 5th round and some could be available after the draft. In order to make it on this list you had to:

1. Be available in the late third and beyond
2. Have either a good amount of TFL or sacks. Preferably both
3. Can't have major character issues

The prospects are listed in no particular order but Jason Jones, Johnny Dingle, and Wallace Gilbery are my favorites. Rudolph Hardie has also emerged as a favorite, but credit goes to ThatGuy for bringing him up.

Jason Jones - Eastern Michigan - Not a real sack master, but had an amazing amount of TFL (Tackles for loss) with 19.5 in 2007 and 18.5 in 2006. Has the size to play LE and has experience at DT, though he doesn't have the bulk to play before 3rd down at the 3 technique. Intangibles have been given a thumbs up, and personally I could picture him getting regular playing time about midway through the season.

Kendall Langford - Hampton - Has the frame to play LDE and the 3 technique at DT. Had a good amount of tackles for loss but not as much as Jason Jones with 13.5 last year.

Johnny Dingle - West Virginia - Probably the best pass rushing prospect that will be available this late in the draft. Had 9 sacks last year at DT, but his size will force him to move to DE at the next level. 19 TFL also makes him an intriguing prospect. Was personally surprised to learn that he weighs around 265.

Wallace Gilberry Scouting Report - 2008 NFL Draft Prospect (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/de/wallacegilberry.html)

Wallace Gilbery - Alabama - Might be the best of both worlds. Had 10 sacks last year and a breath taking 27 TFL. Has good intangibles and is solid against the run. Four year starter. One of my favorite sleeper prospects.

Marcus Dixon - Hampton - Another quality prospect from Hampton. Had 16 TFL last year on top of 6 sacks. Had some off field problems, that had him in prison, but I think if you look into the situation, you'll see that it was a pretty messed up case, and an example of how Georgia is behind the times.

Bryan Mattison - Iowa - Had 9 sacks and 11 TFL last year. Wouldn't complain if we had a chance to add this guy. Of course this is a guy we would draft after the 3rd round. Has the size to play DT.

Kory Biermann - Montanta - Could be a nice pickup after the draft. Has the size of a LB but had 16 sacks and 18.5 TFL last year at DE. Basically he reminds me a lot of Chris Wilson.

Heres a list of safety prospects that the Redskins could go after on day 2. My personal favorites are Tyrell Johnson, Craig Steltz, and Jamie Silva. I'm also starting to like DJ Wolfe because of the fact that he can play either safety position as well as cornerback. Plus he was productive at the colliegate level.

Tyrell Johnson - Arkansas State - Don't know a whole lot about this guy, but Mayock loves him. Has the potential to go in the second round but could be available in the 3rd. Good tackler, great football IQ, and has the type of intangibles that Gibbs would be proud of.

Tom Zbikowski -Great college SS that was one of the few bright spots on Notre Dames defense. Always had a white spot under him NCAA, and thats what really matters. Would be an excellent special teamer and has the ability to return punts. Not the type of ball skills you look for but could be a solid backup to Reed Doughty.

Craig Steltz - LSU - Comes from one of the better defensive schools in the country and given his stats I think its safe to assume that he played with Landry back in 2006. Has the type of intangibles you look for and was a productive player at the college level. Had 6 int's last year but 3 of those were in one game, which in a way is good and bad. Would have chemistry with Landry should the opportunity to play came up.

Man, thats probably the best small school prospect in terms of production, and he has the size to play LDE. Plus he had 20 TFL last year. Can't believe I missed him.

However, with the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised to see our first three picks being G, WR, and CB (in no particular order). With all these guys available late in the draft I could easily see the Redskins take what they think is an Anthony Montgomery type prospect at DE either with the compenstation pick or our fifth round pick.

However this desire to draft a QB sometime in the draft is getting on my nerves because not only do late round QB's not make teams but drafting one could cost us a productive college player that we could easily turn into an overachiever. And last year, taking Jordan Palmer cost us the chance to take a shot at a backup TE like Ben Patrick, who at one point was projected as a 2nd round pick.

So I guess my draft/what I want yet realistically see the Redskins doing goes as follows. I think at this point I have to many DE's but we'll see.

1st - Mike Jenkins - CB/S - South Florida (I mean I guess it's kind of like Miami)
2nd - Jordy Nelson - WR - Kansas
3rd - Robert Felton - G - Arkansas
3rd Comp - Wallace Gilbery - DE - Alabama

6th - Rudolph Hardie - DE - Howard
7th - Jamie Silva - S - BC

UDFA - Andrew Crummy - G - Maryland

These are the guys that the Redskins could go after in the later rounds at DT. Most of these guys are 3 techniques.

Barry Brooker - Virginia Tech - 4 sacks and 10.5 TFL plus the fact that he's a local kid earns him a look.

Since the Redskins like Miami players so much it remains possible that the 3rd string QB the team is looking to develop could be Kyle Wright. Wright was the #1 recruit in the country during his senior year of high school and to this day he still has all the tools to succed as an NFL QB including size, arm strength, and good feet. If Zorn feels like he can help Wright turn the corner then look for the Skins to take him with their 7th round pick.

Strengths: Possesses good height, decent bulk and room on his frame to get bigger. Footwork is sound and is smooth setting up. Displays a strong arm, puts good zip on downfield passes and can make all the necessary throws in the NFL. Shows above-average ball skills and sells play fakes well on play-action. Has quick feet, is an above average athlete and flashes the ability to buy time in the pocket. Mobile enough to get out of the pocket and appears comfortable throwing on the run. Is tough and has bounced back from more than his fair share of hits.

Weaknesses: Inconsistent and has yet to reach his physical potential. Indecisive, holds onto the ball too long and takes too many hits as a result. Doesn't show great poise in the ace of pressure and needs to learn when to throw the ball away. Delivery mechanics are inconsistent. Has a tendency to windup and overall release quickness is below average. Locks onto receivers, fails to see the entire field and misses too many open receivers. Lacks elite top-end speed, isn't going to make many defenders miss and isn't much of a big-play threat when scrambles. Sustained a thumb injury on his throwing hand that required surgery in 2006 and slowed by ankle as well as knee injuries during the 2007 season so durability is a concern.

Overall: Wright was redshirted in 2003. In his first three seasons at Miami (2004-'06), he appeared in 23 games (21 starts) and completed 337 of 566 pass attempts (59.5 percent) for 4,058 yards, 26 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. In 2007, he played in 10 games (eight starts) and completed 141 of 241 pass attempts (58.5 percent) for 1,747 yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also ran for 66 yards (0.8 average) and three TDs as a senior. Wright broke his thumb in 2006 and missed the team's final four games of the season. Last year he missed one game (and was hampered in others) because of knee and ankle injuries. Wright has enough physical tools to succeed in the NFL, including good size-potential, a strong arm and enough athleticism. However, he never was able to put it all together at the collegiate level and, from what we've seen on film, he may lack the instincts his position requires. Wright projects as a late-round pick or rookie free agent.

Hw sounds like Anthony Montgomery, overweight, some stamina issues, maybe we could pick him up and he could turn out to be a great run stopper for us.
