I have to stop kidding around so much. Letting people know that I'm messing around is becoming a full time job for you SmootSmack.

In all seriousness I think the key to finding out who the Redskins will take on day 2 will be finding out who are the most coachable guys with extremly productive careers, while being short on measureables. HB Blades is a prime example of that. I think Vinny said that he averaged 150 tackles a year when he started at Pitt, but don't hold me to that.

In fact Vinny said that they mainly target productive players with average-measureables on day 2. So if you're looking who the Redskins might take on day 2 look at the stats instead of the 40 times.

cooley had over 1200 yards receiving as a fullback and went in the 3rd round (though as a "fullback", all he did was run routes and catch passes).

reed doughty was the same way. GREAT college production... I called him to the skins in the 6th about 2 months before the draft :P

makes me wish i really didn't have to miss 90% of last years FA/senior bowl/combine/pro days/draft with other obligations :(

I think that history tells us that one of the second day Guards will probably go on to be a successful NFL lineman. To me the guys to watch out for are

Andrew Crummey - Local product that was highly regarded by fans and coaches, but has recently been slown down by injuries. 2008 NFL Draft Scout, From Prep to Pro Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange (http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/nflcombineprofile.php?pyid=10925) (Projected round 6-7)

Robert Felton G - Arkansas - To this day I believe that Darren McFaddens success is due more to the ability of his offensive line then his own natural talent. Felton is a mauler and I would love to add him. Ironically his agents name is Dave Butz. Also might have heard that he can play Guard and Tackle 2008 NFL Draft Scout, From Prep to Pro Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange (http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/nflcombineprofile.php?pyid=16856) (Projected to Rd 4-5)

Mike McGlynn - The ultimate swing lineman, can play C, G, and T. Durable as well and apparently plays with good technique. I would be very pleased if we got this guy. 2008 NFL Draft Scout, From Prep to Pro Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange (http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/nflcombineprofile.php?pyid=9328) (Projected to Round 3-4)

Chris McDuffie - G - Clemson - Big mauler that helped his RB's combine for 1,600+ yards
2008 NFL Draft Scout, From Prep to Pro Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange (http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/nflcombineprofile.php?pyid=11116) (Projected Round (6)

Eric Young - G - Tennesee - Highly regarded prospect that has been red flaged due to injuries. 2008 NFL Draft Scout, From Prep to Pro Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange (http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/nflcombineprofile.php?pyid=17501)

If we do go the WR, DE, CB route (in no particular order) with our first 3 picks then I say that we'll probably end up with one of the lineman that I have listed here. Probably with that alleged 3rd round comp pick. Of course I would love Brandon Albert, but for me thats a pipe dream. Anyway with the coaching of Joe Bugel and the handful of elite Guards that were picked late in the draft I would be more then willing to wait.

Heres a list I've compiled of some of the top Guards in the league and where they were drafted (or Undrafted)

Brian Waters - KC - Undrafted
Kris Deilman - SD - Undrafted
Steve Hutchinson - Min - 1st Round 17th pick
Logan Mankins - NE - 1st Round 32nd Pick
Shawn Andrews - Phi - 1st Round 16th Pick
Alan Fanneca - NYJ - 1st Round 26th Pick
Benji Olsen - Ten - 5th Round
Will Shields - KC - 3rd Round
Eric Steinbach - Cle - 2nd Round ~1st Pick
Vince Manuwai - Jax - 3rd Round 8th Pick
Leonard Davis - Dal - 1st Round 2nd Pick
Stacy Andrews - Cin - 4th Round Pick 27
Randy Thomas - Was - 2nd Round 57th Overall
Derrick Dockery - Buf - 3rd Round
Pete Kendall - Was - 1st Round 21st Overall
Brandon Moore - NYJ - Undrafted
Mike Whale - Sea - 2nd Round Supplemental

I'll add more when stupid ESPN lets me see the list :P Actually after looking at this list I'm convinced more now then ever that we should draft Albert in the 1st Round. However I have faith in Buge's ability to develop virtually any lineman with a shread of talent and potential.

Dave Butz is also Matt Jones' agent (he was at least, not sure if he still is). And the name isn't a coincidence he is 65's son.

i like mcduffie in the 6th, and i really like zuttah in the 5th.

mario urrutia is a 6th roundish WR i also like that had 800 then 1000 yards before a terrible junior year, injury, and a poor decision to come out anyways. 6'6" 4.6 guy, and he screams value to me.

i like this draft it gives us a young speedy qb, a pretty good dt, a safety, and a big WR, nicely done
