I would consider tradind pick to get more.Washington done a great job at drafting quality guys last year.Except for Palmer, but they took a gamble late.

"With the 21st pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, The Washington Redskins select
Malcolm Kelly, WR Oklahoma".

The Redskins need a receiver with size to compliment Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El and at 6-4 and 219 lbs, Malcolm Kelly certainly fits that bill. This could just as easily be a guy like Calais Campbell too.

*Draft pending on the following FA acquisitions...
A. Odom DE (Univ Alabama) Tenn Titans
Elton Brown OT (UVA) Arizona Cardinals

Rnd 1

Thomas DeCoud (Cal - S).
I think Doughty is some hot garbage. And we compete in the NFC EAST...

Rnd 2

Chis Williams (OT - Vandy) or Sam Baker (OT - USC)
I'm tired of losing either Samuels or Jansen for the whole year (past 3 years). We need a pedigree O-Lineman...

Rnd 3

Jordy Nelson (WR - KSU)
Assuming we dont get Berrian or Ocho Cinco... And we actually HAVE this pick. I also say if we get Nelson, trade Randle El and let Mix and Nelson round out the top 3 receivers... He also TORCHED Auburn AND #1 CB Talib.

Rnd 5

Chevis Jackson (DB - LSU) * If taken Simeon Castille (DB - Alabama)
Both big pedigree CBs. SEC. Nuff said.

Rnd 6

Dennis Dixon (QB - Oregon)
If he's still on the board... or Xavier Lee (QB - FSU)

Rnd 7

Kendall Langford (DE/DT - Hampton)
Raw talent. And if he's here.

That type of thinking is a little backwards and a reason the Redskins are either over the cap every year or have very few draft picks.

First, needs are established by position.
Then, see if those needs can be addressed in the DRAFT FIRST.

If you need a big possession WR and the draft is deep in that position, draft a guy. Stay away from trades and high price free agents that wreck the cap. It is cheaper to sign rookies than FA's. Plus you retain draft compensation rights after the third season. And you don't have to mortgage your future in his third year, the tender amounts are pre-set by the league so no negotiating is involved. It is cheaper and cap friendly.

If needs cannot be addressed in the draft then you look at Free Agency.

If not available in Free Agency, then look to trade.

Why do you think they hold the scouting combine BEFORE the free agency signing period begins?

P.S. I don't think Jordy Nelson drops to the 3rd round, he'll go in the second.

This is only your 4th post, and already you impress with a full draft card!

Major props!

I've preferred a DE/DT in the 1st round for the past eleven years. I was almost ready to change up to Talib after viewing the practices for the N/S College Senior Bowl.

I'll stick with the BPA at DE, but LDS will probably not look at my preference (again!).

The 184 Mock Drafts in HailRedskins.com list C. Campbell in quite a few, but I don't know much about any player until post-combine, and just prior to NFL Draft day. Amazingly, the Washpost can call it 75-85% accurate one day before the 1st round.

So, C. Campbell is my best guess.

I don't know about this 1st rounder son. The only Safety I would consider at #21 is Kenny Phillips from U of Miami, and I doubt he falls to us.

That being said, I think our first pick does need to be in the defensive backfield ( e.g. - Cornerback).

Jordy Nelson is the sleeper of all sleepers in this draft!!!

HE has the size, quickness, toughness, hands, and break away ability that we would look for at the WR position.

Sorry, to all of the TAlib Fans, but here is a clip of Talib getting baked.
YouTube - Jordy Nelson destroys Aqib Talib (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ek0ANQ8bRfo)

Skins4Life is right, he may not make it past the 2nd round, so I think we would have to choose between Jordy Nelson and Devin Thomas, which is not an easy choice.

What's the point of the video clip? So he's not perfect, so what? I'm sure Jordy Nelson has dropped a pass before.

I guess I'm just trying to figure out if you are saying Talib is no good, and basing it on this clip

Talib is good. Im not denying that, but I dont think he is worth 1st round consideration. IMO, only Mike Walker, Leodis McKelvin, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie are the only CB's worth a look at for us at #21 overall.

And, yes, Jordy Nelson has dropped as pass before, but I would think that for someone projected a first round pick, that Talib wouldnt have looked that bad against someone who is project in the 2nd-3rd rounds.

Against Talib and Kansas, Jordy Nelson had 10 catches, 137 yards, and a touchdown of 68 yards that you saw in the clip. If he get cooked like that by a college player, then my only question is what is gonna happen against TO, Kevin Curtis, and PLax? My guess, is the same thing just a little more time in the oven when Talib gets baked...lol

Todd McShay said if Talib has a good combine he'll be a top 10 pick. Everyone has a bad game every now and then. Overall body of work, Talib is a 1st rounder no doubt. I haven't seen a mock draft that doesn't have him in the top 32.
