(updated title): Make Your Day One Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 1-2)SmootSmack 02-15-2008, 11:37 PM Yup, that's why I brought Devin Thomas up the other day in the first place Hail to the Redskins 02-15-2008, 11:41 PM Limas Sweed. Big C 02-16-2008, 12:02 AM aquib talib. im shying away from a WR, generally rookie WR's dont have huge impacts. GENERALLY. if we want a number 1 receiver i dont think the draft is the way to go here, atleast not with a first rounder. u can grab good receivers later on CPAlltheWay012 02-16-2008, 12:06 AM Calais Campbell - If he falls. If not, Talib. yup that's how I see it EternalEnigma21 02-16-2008, 12:10 AM I'm not really high on Sweed. I'm a TX fan, but I think Early Doucet is better. Mario Urittia (sp?) from louisville is around 6'6" and runs close to a 4.4 (high) forty, so he'd be a pretty decent prospect. I know he's had attitude problems, though. I think that's going to push him into the second or third round, but he's got all the physical gifts to make a great vertical threat... I also think that we could pick up Darius Raynaud in a later round. He's not really all that high up and he's a great slot receiver. Also he was a returner, and wasn't bad at that either... SmootSmack 02-16-2008, 01:17 AM I liked the Talib bandwagon better when I was the only person on it here. So I will allow others to drive it now and make a push for-no, not Antoine Cason (though I do like him)-Reggie Smith out of Oklahoma Smith played both strong safety and cornerback in college. I believe he's projected as a CB in the NFL but I think he's got the versatility to do both in the pros. So as of February 16th, I'll say with the 21st pick the Redskins select Reggie Smith skinsfan_nn 02-16-2008, 02:04 AM First choice would be best player available with that said at the 21st spot in the 1st round (if we keep the pick), Phillip Merling DE, we need another speed rushing end to compliment AC and bring a dual threat to the opposing QB. Second choice would be Talib, we need to address the corner position this might be the perfect time with CR not ready to go at the start of the season and Springs old and running out of time in DC and his status still seems uncertain with team. (Yea, I know the team says they want to keep him, but what else would they say, could be trade time) Finally, if both those guys are already picked. I would still go with best available, but maybe Calais Campbell DE or Malcolm Kelly WR. jamf 02-16-2008, 02:12 AM My Pick: Sam Baker Tackle from USC. We need a good backup or a replacement for Jansen. They will have two game against Javon Kearse, Strahan and Demarcus Ware. We need people who can hold their own. What I think is going to happen: Desean Jackson is going to slide to the 21st pick and DS is going to draft him. Snyder loves players that sell jerseys. Jackson is an exciting player and will have one of the top 3 most popular rookie jerseys. He's going to drop on most draft boards because he is going to show up to the combine weighing 160LBS and teams are going to compare him to Ted Ginn Jr and his performance as a rookie. Also, Teams are going to be afraid that he won't be able to get off the line or go over the middle. With the 21st pick, The redskins select Desean Jackson. GMScud 02-16-2008, 02:26 AM Malcolm Kelly if he's there, Limas Sweed or Aqib Talib if not. We need a big time CB and/or WR, and OL depth. skinzaholic73 02-16-2008, 04:35 AM my pick depending on who's available. 1.D.Rodgers-Cromartie 2.Aquib Taliq 3.Tracy Porter 4.Antoine Cason *defintiely should pick CB 1st rd. There will be a few Excellent DE available for us in rd.2 that wouldn't really be worth that 1st pick EX.Lawrence Jackson.I am really starting to like Tracy Porter now but ultimately my favorite pick I think would be Aquib Taliq.DMC is Awesome I just don't think he'll be there at #21. |
