I was just wondering. What about us trading down? I was thinking if we traded with Green Bay or someone else but stay in the first rd.maybe we could pick up extra 3rd,a4th or 5th rd. pick this year.Is this possible? thoughts...

I don't know about trading our first round pick. But I'm all for trading down in the 2nd round to pick up an extra pick. Would love to have picks in all rounds

Here we go.

I agree trading down can be a good idea but many people seem to think there is a magic trade down fairy that you tell to trade you down. There has to be a trade partner and the deal needs to be good. So it isn't as simple as just deciding to trade down. If we can get a good deal I think we would have to seriosuly consider it. From our spot though there will be some decent players left. If we can get some pass rushing help at 21 or an immediate impact offensive lineman I think we use the pick. If the best we can do is a WR I would say try and trade down.

I agree.I was just thinking of maybe trading a player or working some sort of deal with san fran or green bay.If it were possible to still stay in the first rd,we would still be able to pick up a really good CB or DE with that first pick all the while picking up an extra pick in the mid rds.Because our WR will come from FA and if we had a 4th,5th or an extra 3rd this year that would be really sweet.

If we were higher up then maybe I would wanna trade. Like last year, at #6, that would have been a great time to trade, but at 21 overall, we need to stay put.

If we could trade a player for an extra 3rd/4th/5th round pick, it would be a good look for us.

we need to keep our 1st rd pick this year, but i belive that if we could get trade to add an extra pick for next year, it would be worth it. Next years draft class is NASTY!

There's often a guy that slips way further down than people think, e.g. Matt Leinart, Aaron Rodgers, Brady Quinn.

If for some reason somebody like Matt Ryan is still available at #21, there will be a few teams that are willing to trade up those few spots to get him. That's what Cleveland did last year w/Dallas & now the pokes have 2 1st round picks.

To be in that position requires a lot of luck.

I disagree. When you have a top 10 pick, few people want it. The problem is that rookies get paid so much a top 10 bust can ruin your salary cap. I believe the Cowboys were around 21ish last year and they got a hell of a deal. Id definitely trade our first this year for a shitty teams first next year plus a high-mid rounder this year.

I agree completely.. Although Dallas certainly didn't expect Cleveland to be a 10 win team, look at New England. I don't even remember who SF traded to grab but they gave this years #1 pick and a team that won 18 games has the 7th overall selection.. This is the type of deal we should seek if anything.

They used the pick on Joe Staley, an outstanding OT. They don't regret the move one bit.
