I think Zbikowski is going to be very happy that he played all four years of his college eligibility. He could have been a higher draft pick if he had come out after his second season, but he wasn't ready to make the move, and would have been a disaster as an NFL safety (still would have been a valuable Punt Ret guy).

As it stands now, he's not going to be a first round pick, but ultimately when the draft process runs it's course, I think he will be a second or third rounder and probably the 4th or 5th safety off the board.

The Redskins could use Zbikowski, but they certainly don't need him, nor do they need a safety in general. Just as a fan of the guy, for personal reasons, I think Washington would be a good fit for him.

Has anyway mentioned Antwaan Odom. He has the size to play Left DE (270+), he also is coming off a year where he had 8 sacks. On top of that he's entering his prime at 27 years old. I say we make a play for him should he hit the open market.

what about signing newly released Bryon Leftwich to backup jason campbell. Long time redskins fan would get the chance to play for his favorite team.

Doesn't really answer the issue that this thread is about, addressing needs on defense

whoops, didnt see the word defense. ok, well id like to see who doesnt get franchised. there could be alot of good free agents out there, Id like us to go after jared allen from kc. he's a beast. Then id use the first pick on talib, second on de, and so on. With out a doubt i think our top need goin into this season is going to be a DB. We have no depth behind springs and smoot, and both are injury prone.

Haven't done the research but heard a few weeks ago that Atari Bigby is a FA (apologize if i'm wrong). That guy can light some people up, but haven't really seen him play too much.

i wouldn't be happy with talib. DE is so deep this draft, there's a safety that can really play, and cromartie is probably the best cb in the draft (and more likely to be there at 21).
