I just saw on espn.com (ESPN - Green, Booker among nine cuts by rebuilding Dolphins - NFL (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3241124)) that Trent Green and Marty Booker were both cut from the Dolphins.

Any thoughts on potentially bringing in one of them to help bring more veteran leadership to the QBs and WRs?

PS. I am still looking at Jason Campbell to be the starter, not replacing him with Trent

if someone suggesting bringing Trent Green in to be the starter or even have an open training camp competition they would get shot down so quickly lol. I don't think we need to bring either of them in, maybe Marty Booker to see if he could compete for a roster spot but if he was let go I wouldn't be disappointed.

The NFL should do Trent Green a favor and ban him from playing ever again. Seriously, the guy has had more concussions then most veteran linebackers. I know it sucks considering that his life has revolved around football up untill this point but I'm convinced that a guy like Trent could be a great QB coach (hmm?).

As for Marty, I'll be the first to start the party line, maybe for the vet minimum.

I like Booker but I'd rather just hold on to Caldwell.

Bring them both in.. at the league minimum :spank:

(OK... the offseason has officially begun on here... now we can have all of the threads about everyone who is available and how we should sign them at the league minimum)

If Trent Green's headed anywhere it may be to compete with Collins for the backup role in STL. Saunders made them both what they are and they only succeed under his system. He's a "no go" physically and system wise here now.

More concussions than Steve Young? I was pretty young when he was finishing his career. But I do remember that that guy was constantly out with concussions and I remember thats why he had to retire. Everytime you turned around the guy had his head on backwards.

Booker, fine, but not Green. All of these years I had been wishing we kept him, but now he's too dangerous (to himself) to keep on a roster.

We need a backup who can both stay healthy when needed to play, plus who can actually stay on the team for more than a season.

This is interesting considering the collins thread that was started today. which would Al want more to come to st.louis?

Green might be wise to step away, but he did start his career here & maybe he'd be a good backup to bring into camp. He might end up getting cut again anyway.

Does every released player in the NFL get this type of scrutiny from other teams fan base or is it just us? It seems like we are the champions of every over the hill and or washed up player that has hit the streets in the last few years.
