I would not have said that. Fassel is way better than Mayonnaise.

...It would've had to have been honey mustard. Then I'd be glad.

Arby's honey mustard...now there's a winning coach

I'm comfortably numb

Seriously though, I have mixed feelings too. It's a gamble I'm not sure I would have taken. This is going to require patience which I don't know how much Snyder has and I know Redskins fans have very, very little

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one feeling uncomfortable with this hiring. I'm surprised that so many people are unconditionally stoked. I'll withhold judgment in case Snyder is trolling the site checking out public opinion :) (I seriously don't think any message boards, including this venerable site, had anything to do with the hiring process - I just can't allow myself to believe that).

Ironically enough, I heard the news on the sports ticker in Madden 08 after finishing a game as the skins. I wasn't sure if it was real or just some Madden commentary glitch...

I'm excited about this, I think this is exactly what the skins need - a first time head coach with positive feedback from the league. I wasn't looking forward to someone that had been fired from somewhere else (Gregg Williams included).

This combined with a new Director of player personnel (which hasn't gotten that much press here for some reason) leads me to believe that although we may have a rough first couple seasons, the long term outlook is bright.

My only problem with it is losing G. Williams and Al Saunders. Gregg was probably gone after not getting the nod, but keeping Al Saunders could have been huge for us. Hopefully the new OC will be someone with considerable experience to take some of the workload off of Zorn.

Given the Jon Gruden, Andy Reid, Steve Mariucci list of QB coaches under Holmgren to succeed in the NFL, I'm fine with the hire. The way it went down stinks of an unstable front office though. But I do think we could potentially have a good HC. The Holmgren tree is strong.

also hes not that young i keep reading "good young coach". hes 54 55 in may and a first time head coach. mike tomlin is young (35). mike mccarthy is young (44). not zorn.

True. I checked out Seahawks Huddle - Home of the 12th Man :: Home (http://www.seahawkshuddle.com) and they wish Zorn well and think he'll do a decent job as a HC. They seem amazed that we even got him as a HC since they think our organization is "a mess".

I will tell you something that I tell people down here in slack-jaw yee haw land everyday... do not fear what you see as different or new. The "ain't broke don't fix it" doesnt apply here so we are just going to have to accept it no matter how uncomfortable it may be at first... whoa this sounds like a whole different thing... but i sware i am talking about coaches.

well, I think it's better than Fassel, but a QB coach should never jump to HC. This is something that I am very shocked to hear, and curious as to why.

Andy Reid may disagree with you on that.
