Is probation a warning or a suspension of priveleges or both?

you lose the ability to create new threads

Well, I am the first one who was begging for something like this.... but I hope that people get warnings ... not just in the threads, but in PM's.... Would hate to be kicked off of here... I just love everyone on here so much... I mean... your like family to me... I just love everyone....:vomit:

OK... maybe that was to much to shovel... but I do hope warnings are given.

Nobody is getting kicked off, that's not what this is about. This is simply about losing the ability to create new threads for those that can't handle the responsibility of it.

I'm just clarifying here. Is this probation something that will eventually allow you to post new threads again if you shape up? I'm just thinking people would want to know that there is some kind of warning system or whatever.

Probably not.

Hey Matty I don't think I am asking the right question. Do the Mods let say some new eager person know that they are skating on thin ice before they get a very important privilege revoked for good?

It depends. We'll look at all situations on their own. I'm not saying anyone who posts a duplicate or questionable thread is going to get dinged. We typically try to give everyone a chance to straighten out.

Got it. I was just kind of concerned about new people who want to contribute, but just don't quite get it and are maybe a little to eager to make a new thread which ends up being a weak thread. Not worried of course about the ones who are just plain out of control.

what is the best way to check and make sure a thread hasnt been already posted on the same topic without having to manually search?

Ok I got it, in that case I wouldn't call it a duplicate. I mean it is, but that's not the problem I'm trying to address here.

Matty, maybe you should take just a moment to give a few examples of just what is considered a "worthless thread" It has become apearent that the people who post these type threads don't know the difference.

I think one previous poster gave some examples of the type threads you're refering too, but they would be better served hearing it from you.
