So we now instintually listen to everyone who has an opinion on something that they have never taken part in. Please!

I've seen countless times people in this group talk about someone not knowing what they are talking about because they havent played football! And please dont lie and say that it hasnt happened, because we all know when people start talkin about what they want to see in the draft, free agency, and our play calling that is thrown around an awful lot.

So spare me the inconsistent examples, and stop trying to make me out to be something that I am not.

As for me and my inside scoop...lol. I reported that the Jets were interested in Betts for a 2nd rounder, and guess who they did get for a second rounder - Thomas Jones. So there,, the trade did happen, just not for us.

I like how you wanna act like you know me man. You make comments about me, and I didnt go at you or anyone else in this forum like that. I think you should stick to the issue as well, and I would appreciate it if kept me and my PAST business out of your mouth and off of this forum. I would think that an apology is in order. Like I did to those who I have offended, you should do the same, but can I realistically expect that? Time will tell.

The only thing I ask from this forum is that we objectively talk about the issues. we would be better off. I never said anything bad about women. I just said I dont listen to thing that they havent participated in, and, for me, that goes fro politics, sports, and religion. I just want you all to see the "nature" of my comment before you lash out. Maybe you want to even ask me for clarification before you jump the gun. If that would have happened at first, then maybe we wouldnt bee here.

Is it too much to ask the moderators to help facilitate that type of discourse? Once again, time will tell.

Sean and Clayton dont do that segment anymore in video(now in radio), because of all the animosity that played out. Whether it was playful or not, its not a staple of ESPN as it once was.

In the broadcast booth for football games, when do u ever see the announcer, whether it be Joe Buck or Pat Summerall, comment on the intricacies of actual gameplay? That is reserved for the ex-coaches and players. Dennis Miller, when he was on MNF, would often over step that line, and due to that, among other reason, he was consequently fired.

Sally Jenkins is doing exactly what she has set out to do. To write the most scathing commentary that she possibly can about the Redskins, because it draws attention. Look at it like this, it should fuel the fire for Danny boy to do whatever he can to turn the Redskins into winners. Until the Redskins win the Super Bowl, I'd expect more of the same from her.

It is what it is, but at the same time, where else in the world do we let people with no experience in an arena consistently write errant reports and bad mouth and organization in which that person has had no idea on whats is good from the ground up? Sports is the only place that we tolerate it, and I am not sexist, not by any means. Like I said the statement may sound that way, but realistically, I wouldn't want to listen to someone comment on politics who hasnt been involved in that arena. That also goes for science, religion, and, in this case, sports.

People have made the same comment about John Clayton from ESPN. Matter of fact, when he and Sean Salsbury(sp) go at it on the shows, Sean makes fun of him for commenting on a game he NEVER played. It just so happens that this OP/ED is written by a woman, and whether we like to admit it or not, gender does play a certain, small part in why she lacks ethos to comment on football.

Many of the best coaches never played pro football and some never played college football. Yet, they were still given chances and thrived.

You don't listen to people who haven't had experience in politics about political matters? Really? You do realize that politics is about everything under the sun and politicians are not really experts in anything other than running campaigns, fundraising, and public speaking. For example, I listen to "non-politicans" when it comes to military affairs, health care experts when it comes to health care issues, and economists when it comes to economic issues.

I feel where you are coming from, but most of the journalists who write those columns DO have experience. In brief, newspaper sections has "specialized" reporters who have some type of experience to write on. Some are hands on, and some aren't. However, I still do look at every newspaper article, especially those on politics and religion, with a certain degree of reasonable suspicion.

So I do watch the news, but I dont read into it too much. However, I understand your perspective

You have stated here that you are/were the Chipotle dude at Wizards games and that's how you got this unique access to Wizards games. And I was simply saying that it would be ridiculous for anyone of us to say "well then keep your participation on this board to that. I wrote the following e-mail to Sally.

I have several problems with your article suggesting that Steve Spagnuolo should run away from Dan Snyder and the Redskins.

First, Spagnuolo might be wise to cash in while he's hot. As Gregg Williams and other coordinators know all too well, head coaching opportunities don't always a come a knockin'. That's why Al Davis (who is Dan Snyder on crack, meth and junk) can always find a new victim and why guys like Romeo Crennel work for the once laughable Browns. If the Giants defense has a sub-par 2008 season or, worse, implodes this upcoming season, Spagnuolo will not be on too many head coaching short lists.

Second, the notion that the Redskins cannot win without a general manager is simply wrong. Many teams do quite well without GMs (Dallas, the #1 seed in the NFC, has a GM named Mr. Jones). Many teams with respected GMs don't do so well (see the Texans' record under Charley Casserly). Moreover, many hot coaching candidates want some or total control over personnel. Danny went that route in 2000 with Marty and 2003 with Spurrier and, suffice it to say, neither venture was particularly successful.

Third, your article suggests that it is unreasonable to believe that Snyder would have retained Tom Coughlin after last season. Steve Spurrier posted back to back losing seasons (the second of which was flat out embarassing), yet Snyder backed Spurrier at every turn. Joe Gibbs also woefully unperformed in 2 of his 4 seasons, yet Snyder wanted to sign him to an extension.

Fourth, you scoff at the notion that the Redskins could ever find contributors in the lower rounds of the draft. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with H.B. Blades, Reed Doughty, Anthony Montgomery, and Kedric Golston, as well as undrafted free agents Chris Wilson, Lorenzo Alexander, Stephon Heyer, and Leigh Torrence. That's not to mention former players like Lemar Marshall and Antonio Pierce.

Fifth, your article repeatedly praises the Giants ownership and front office for its patience. I find a great deal of irony in that view. As your article conceded, the Giants were in total disarray for several years and many players openly and privately questioned Tom Coughlin's leadership abilities. Perhaps you should be 1/2 as patient with Dan Snyder as the Mara family has been with Tom Coughlin.

I know that you are writing an op-ed, not a news article. I also know that we are in the Fox News/Bush era of "us versus them," where people abuse hyperbole after hyperbole to get their point across. If nuance were a stock, it would be worthless. BUT, it would be nice to read an op-ed every once in a while that is truly "fair and balanced." Sadly, you and the people at extremeskins.com are two sides of the same coin.

Your comment was that women shouldn't do men's sports. Why would you single out women? Did Curt Menafee, Bob Costas, John Clayton, Lenny Pastabelly, Mike Wise, Tony Kornhieser, Michael Wilbon, or Jason La Canfora play pro football? Of course not. So, yes, it's sexist, but moreover, it's just a stupid comment to make.
