absolutely blows my mind how people can talk bad about his play after that showing. he led the giants to arguably the biggest upset in history. how can anyone hate on him after that last drive?
I hate to be the hater, but Eli sucked (sponsored by the player haters ball)beau_str 02-04-2008, 01:48 AM absolutely blows my mind how people can talk bad about his play after that showing. he led the giants to arguably the biggest upset in history. how can anyone hate on him after that last drive? coggs 02-04-2008, 01:50 AM It kinda pissed me off that Manning got the MVP, I thought that he was the luckiest sob EVER for not losing that game. It seemed to me that on every throw he made in the 4th quarter, (except for one or two) he seemed to lean back, close his eyes throw the ball and pray that his reciever would catch it, and the overthow of Burress almost lost the game. I will give him props for fighting though, he got out of a few sacks where he should have been eating dirt. Even though I thought he should have thrown the ball away instead of scramble, I'm not going to complain about that point too much. AS IF ANY OF US GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHO WON THE MVP. WE ARE THE FUCKING CHAMPS AND THE SIGNATURE STAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! beau_str 02-04-2008, 01:51 AM personally, eli breaking tackles and throwing that pass at the end of the game to win it does it for me. no question, deserved. that is my opinion DynamiteRave 02-04-2008, 01:51 AM AS IF ANY OF US GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHO WON THE MVP. WE ARE THE FUCKING CHAMPS AND THE SIGNATURE STAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After winning a Super Bowl against the Pats, I wouldn't mind being kicked out of the NFL. :D Your boys did great, Coggs! :woot: SC Skins Fan 02-04-2008, 01:54 AM AS IF ANY OF US GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHO WON THE MVP. WE ARE THE FUCKING CHAMPS AND THE SIGNATURE STAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Relax dude, geez, clearly the guy is nuts. Eli played a hell of a game. The Tyree catch was a great play, but did you not notice Eli escaping from 3 guys right before he threw the ball? Give me a break, Eli won the game, classic performance. If you want to kill him when he plays bad (which I have) then give him some credit when he plays well (which he did). Eli deserved the MVP, he was the clear choice, and if you missed that I think you might have been paying more attention to the wings and beer instead of the game. coggs 02-04-2008, 01:56 AM Honestly thought it was going to go to someone on the D-line. Not sure off the top of my head, but they had 5 sacks I think and Brady was on his ass A LOT. beau_str 02-04-2008, 01:58 AM not to mention they would not have been in the SB if it were not for his long string of strong play through the playoffs. give credit where it is due. can't wait for next season. Yeah, but when a QB leads a game winning drive with under 2 minutes left, its kind of hard to pick anyone else. The d-line did get to Brady a ton though. I bet he took more shots tonight than he did all year. Guess he's human when he doesn't get protection ... great gameplan, great execution. FRPLG 02-04-2008, 02:21 AM And let's be honest, The Giants talent-wise are pretty thin offensively. Besides Burress they have: 2 mediocre to decent RBs with little to no value in the passing game no discernibly good TEs with value besides blocking 1 average WR who caught the droppsies this year and scares exactly no one in the league a bunch of no name fodder type WRs a decent offensive line. Not the makings of a great offense and any success had with this group can be attributed to Eli's play mostly. mooby 02-04-2008, 03:47 AM It kinda pissed me off that Manning got the MVP, I thought that he was the luckiest sob EVER for not losing that game. I will disagree with you on this point, I thought Eli played a fine game and he was much more deserving of MVP than Peyton was in last year's Super Bowl. Eli has progressed a lot this postseason, and it showed. You could've counted me in on the believers that Eli didn't have it in him to take the Giants 83 yards down the field to score the winning touchdown against an undefeated team, but he did it, and that drive will be remembered as one of the crowning points of his career, unless of course, this becomes the first of many high points. |
