Because he was great with Matt and he developed into a probowl QB. What's more important? Calling great plays or the skill to work with and develope a QB to maximize their talents. He may or may not call the plays but he will work very closely with JC and he's got 9 years experience as offensive QB coach for Seattle.

Well I do think we have an upgrade from Lazor to Zorn. But it's really too bad how they are treating Lazor. He did a solid job with JC last year and to leave him hanging is not very professional. Snyder and Vinny suck.

I'm optimistic too. After all, it's the postseason. But doesn't a rookie offensive coordinator favor Fassel or Mariucci as a head coach, rather than Meeks, Schwartz, et al.?

Everything is pointing to Mooch. He has ties to Dan's butt buddy Vinny, he has worked with Blache in the past and he and Zorn both worked with Mike H.

Here are a couple of good reason why I think Redskins fans should stop complaining about Jim Zorn.

1) Jim Zorn is a proven coach that will bring out the best in Jason Campbell
2) Jason Campbell was good in a west coast type offense in college football(And yes Zorn is bringing his own version of the west coast offense)
3) His play book is not 700 + pages long

Thanks for the correction angryssg(I need to learn to proof read what I write)

LMFAO! It is yet to be seen whether that is a pro or a con. I assume that you believe it to be a pro, and I agree to a point. The versatility that the 700 page playbook offered to a Veteran QB is immense. I agree that it might have been overwhelming to a youg QB like Campbell.

On a side note, where is the Steelers Playbook from Rothlisberger's rookie year? That is the one I want.

I might be bias (Being a Seahawks fan) but I just don't see Jim Zorn failing as offensive Coordinator

Our new coach will call the plays...Zorn has an overinflated title. just like Buges (he's a damn line coach for heavens sake!)

No way the Skins allow a kid with zero playcalling experience take over.
Saunders has called thousands of plays to his zero.

No doubt our new head coach will be Offensive.
(pun intended)

I think he will be a great OC for the Skins. If he calls plays like he did from his playing days, it will be exciting. Jim Zorn was one of the most exciting QBs of his era . . . I loved watching him play. He was a better runner, scrambler than Staubach or Tarkenton. As a lefty, he was Steve Young before Steve Young . . .
