Hail To The Finalists (Skins to HOF)scafuri27 01-29-2008, 08:07 AM Green was a shut down corner.. he dropped a lot of interceptions also..which would have made his lofty int numbers ever better.. definately deserves to get in THIS weekend redskinsfanatic 01-29-2008, 09:25 AM Guys I am very young (19) and I couldn't really watch the Skins growing up, with that said what was Darrel Green like as a player, is he a lock his first time out!??! first game he ever played,he ran tony dorsett down from behind!dorsett had 10 yards on him,and green caught him.during the course of his career,he also ran eric dickerson, barry sanders and a shitload of other HOF type players down from behind.he's also the only redskin in recent memory to intercept 3 passes in 1 game.monk, and grimm should have been in a long time ago,but certain assholes from espn and sports illustrated just could'nt see past their pea size brains to vote for them. redskinsfanatic 01-29-2008, 09:34 AM Carter should NOT get in this year for the simple fact that he couldn't keep his damned mouth shut when he was being paid as an NFL commentator and stated that Art should not be in the HoF because of his numbers. Conflict of interest and most of all, just totally classless. i could make a lot better case for andre reed getting in before i could chris"all he does is drink old english"carter, buddy ryan basically cut him because he was a drunk.on the flip side,he and marino could get everybody good rates for those diet plans they endorse. birdz4gibbs 01-29-2008, 10:35 AM Guys I am very young (19) and I couldn't really watch the Skins growing up, with that said what was Darrel Green like as a player, is he a lock his first time out!??! yes darrell was the corner every team wanted to avoid at all cost but at times had no choice and they paid dearly for it.. darrell was the ultimate redskin on and off the field..... yes he should be a lock..and hopefully monk joins him in the HOF. Monkeydad 01-29-2008, 10:42 AM Russ deserves better than a Tripod image. http://images.washtimes.com/photos/full/20060203-110853-6992.jpg That Guy 01-29-2008, 02:11 PM green ran a 4.2 when he was 40 years old... that's nuts. SFREDSKIN 01-29-2008, 02:15 PM green ran a 4.2 when he was 40 years old... that's nuts. And won the NFL man fastest player competition 3 times, he was also clocked at 4.15 if I recall in his younger days. SFREDSKIN 01-29-2008, 04:28 PM Here's a good article on Monk from redskins.com Monk Let His Play Do the Talking (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=34165) Warpath 01-29-2008, 05:18 PM lZVp90P6GYM #28's punt return against the Bears when he tore cartiledge in his chest. Also if you didn't see #28 play, then you prob didn't see #81 (the original 81) play. Go to youtube, theres tons of clips there on him. texasskinsfan 01-29-2008, 06:11 PM I bet that not a one of them are put into the HOF. Monk should have already been in years ago and Grimm should have made it in last year and Green this year. But just because they played for the Skins they want be put in. I guess you have to be a cowgirls player who had all kinds of off the field troubles to make it in. Art did things that no other receiver was willing to do (i.e.) block, catch passes across the middle knowing he was going to get hit and hard, and keep his nose clean on and off the field and he played during a time where there was no five yard rule, a defender could bump you all the way down the field and knock you around pretty much a he wanted to. I'm not saying that the cowpuke players didn't deserve to get in but so do these three Monk, Grimm and Greenjust as much. And even Michael Irvin agrees that Monk should have been in long before him. |
